TW stated they will go it alone. Who knows if that will stand the test of time. From what I have read about them, they will hardly advance our cause! Yeh indeed, and I agree, they would be better off, ploughing that cash into ECITA, or stand along side ECITA.

By 2016 they will have to be regulated by MHRA. The non-recall bit refers to the time between now and 2016 kruegerbaitHope that clears that up.

They tried to get onto to VTTV but they ran out of time. But ECW said they would back them financially, and I think so will a number of their members. I know TW are coming up with a battle plan. Maybe best if they all fought the same battle, but I don't know how TW feel.

Exactly MarkS. And I think that is one fundamental problem they may have overlooked. Unless they come up with whole new medical parameters just for e-cigs, and well in that case, they would be better suited to a consumer product, albeit with medicinal tests. With 3 years to come up with a solution, how do they get it so so wrong. If anything, the Food Standards Agency is the best placed to deal with liquid nicotine, and the rest TS and OFT between them.

That's how I see it too a1laserboy. You can have all the equipment and even the seeds to grow a cannabis plant, but you can't actually grow it. I think the regulations mostly concentrate on cig-a-likes as they are the majority, but the e-liquid would be medicinalised, which will of course increase the cost of the product, but we will still be able to get the stuff we need. But until we get to read their proposals (in full) we won't know what they really want to do!

But the NICE report does state that doctors can prescribe licensed NCP's for long term use. I presume ads will change to that stance too.

2 years to stock up on nic base is plenty of time , any vaper that's not already mixing their own juice should start educating themselves in the art because IF e-cigs are to be regulated as medicines then the price of juice is going to rocket That is of course if you are able to get juice (as we know it now). There's 2 ways of looking at this, get nicotine juice, as a medicine, to go into your non-medical devices. Can't medicinalise juice, therefore banning them, and having to get your juice from the black market/stock up. If the only issue is what is in the juice, then option 1 would be more likely, or will they try and medicinalise batteries, steel tubes, threads, wicks, coils separately, as we all know that we will be able to get these items separately.

BTW there is no TAX on medical products. But the cost of making them a medicine will boost the price up. Ultimately this is good news for those that want to just use look-a-likes, but for those that use egos/mods then this 'could' be bad news. But we will have to await the MHRA's full proposal. But we have 2 years to build up nic bases, and get replacement mods, atties etc. Or 2 years to fight the proposal, or both

I guess we will still await their full proposal, as there is nothing set in stone, and the guardian articles says hope to be med regs by 2016
