Hi gibla53 this is something that ECCA would be able to look into, although we have to be careful when working in partnership with trade bodies such as ECITA, that would be my only concern. But if you could post a link to said thread, I will have a read and see if it's something ECCA can help with. I am however worried about how many separate organisations there are for the same thing, with ECITA, ECCA, ecigs saves lives, fight the ban etc. I'm not veing dismissive just airing my views, but I will definitely look at thr proposal. No disrespect Matt, but what did you think would happen? ECCA has so far done very little to represent the consumer in the fight to stop the EU nonsense, and this is why splinter groups have popped up because people have felt completely impotent in getting their voices heard. With the greatest respect, I totally agree, however if everyone supported one group/organisation we woupd be much better off! ECCA are working with limited time and resources, the current committee and volunteers are spending 80% of their free time trying to get things in place. We are very regularly up until 12-1am hoing through ideas etc. Our biggest hold up at the moment is the new website, we have all the information data etc to go on it, but our volunteer web designer has been very busy with paid work, and hasnt found the time to complete it. I'm not trying to argue with you, and I agree your points are very valid, just explaining our position.

If people really understood what it was to be addicted to the habit of smoking, it would go a long way to helping our cause. Special Advisor to ECCA, Dr David Upton, has written a piece on Addiction which covers this perfectly. Much has been said about the impact of positive reinforcement that smokers go through, speculation about the importance or not of nicotine. There are articles spread far and wide about what it is to be a smoker. We are pleased to have this work among our arsenal and we ask that you both read and share it. It would be the perfect document to give to your MP or MEP or just to quote from in talking to those that think the answer to getting away from tobacco is to 'just quit' www.eccauk.org/images/pdf/addiction.pdf

Yes ENVI voted for medical regilation 44 votes for 27 against.
But this still needs to go to plenary (where all MEP's vote, not just ENVI ones) so now is the time to start emailing your MEP's again, as we will need their votes in plenary in September!

I didn't watch it, but tbh the TPD is all about tobacco, e-cigs was just a small part.

No I don't. I'm not sure if we can find that info if I'm honest, not sure if it's meant to be secret or not?

Ok so we now have to keep up the pressure for plenary in September. Not all over but a bit of a kick in the teeth. 44 votes for 27 against, similar votes for ammendment 58, votes 44 against 25 for .

I believe the vote on the TPD is taking place at 3pm. If it was the earlier one, those arriving at 12.30 would be too late...

On our front page you will find our response to the Corporate European Observatory and their article accusing us of being AstroTurf lobbyists. This has been sent to them and we will share the response as and when we receive it. www.eccauk.org/

That was a good article, balanced but swaying towards us. And made good points about gateways, but the serious one hasn't been proven, and pretty unlikely. If 1% have the 'bad' gateway experience but e-cigs out sell tobacco cigarettes, then surely in risk vs reward, reward prevails.

Yeh that is a good statistic, but unfortunately as it states in the limitations section , and has been said before, the results have come from 2 e-cig company forums. The only way to get results that he powers that be will look at, would be random surveys, like those annoying people that stop you in the street and such. But thanks for posting

Thanks all! I know it's a bit of a silly milestone, but it was one I was really worrying about, especially as I was out with smokers. But yeh if I can cope with just my CE5 I will be fine with my eVic and iclear30 So I have treated myself to a couple more concentrates and and a couple more heads lol. Oh and some empty bottles lol. Little things

Ok a bit boring, buton Saturday night, I went out to paint the town red, this was the first time I had been out (properly) since I started vaping and I didn't have one stinky!! I was also out with smokers and spent an amount of time in the smoking areas vaping away on my 650mah ego wih CE5. Now I'm used to my eVic with an iclear30 at 9 watts so quite a big jump down but I was fine and didn't get tempted, in fact almost the opposite lol. So I was having a few vapes in the club too, and went through 2.4 mls in the one night but I would have smoked more than usual anyway.
So yes all in all, very chuffed indeed!
