This is a "decreto legge", and as such it should have had immediate effect (pending discussion and approval by the Parliament within 60 days)... BUT! The decreto legge itself states that it will become effective as of January 1st 2014... Puzzling, to say the least. The bill also states that the sale of e-cigs will have to be regulated by the Amministrazione Autonoma Monopoli di Stato-AAMS (State tobacco monopoly), basically equating e-cigs to cigarettes on the assumption that they are "tobacco substitutes". What's next? A tax on hard candy, chewing gum and liquorice lozenges?!

Thanks, Perpetua! Actually, the bill has been approved and the tax increase is now official.

Newsflash from Italy: starting from January 2014, e-cigs (including spare parts and e-liquids) will be taxed at 58,5%. Moreover, they will be subject to the same restrictions that apply to cigarettes.

Hi guys & gals, work is keeping me away from the forums, but not from vaping :-) I would love to hear your suggestions for a good Raspberry E-liquid. I've tried the Liberty Flights flavouring but it doesn't taste like raspberry to me. So... what would you recommend? I'd need to have it shipped to Italy, so I would prefer a vendor that offers int'nl shipping.
Thanks in advance!

Don't forget that overheads for a Bricks and Mortar store will be different to those who vend solely online and maybe don't have warehouse facilities to support. I'm not saying this justifies overcharging from anyone in any country . . . but Business Rates and Rent are a huge outlay for any physical store. Oh yes, absolutely!

All things considered, running a real shop is much more expensive than having a Web-based business, so I think it's only fair that they sell at (reasonably) higher prices than their online counterparts. But if the price for the exact same item in two different real shops is off by a 50% difference, then as a consumer I can't help but think they're trying to capitalize on my ignorance (in the literal meaning of the term) to make a quick buck - and, in the case of the shop owner I mentioned, to "round up" what he earns from an entirely different activity (he is a photographer, of all things!) As an addedum to my first message, I ended up going to my "regular" shop for the eGo clearomizer. Chatting with the owner, I found out that the guy who tried to sell me the clearomizer for €8 was a former client of theirs, and that before stocking up on e-liquids for his corner, he used to go there every day to taste their juices Which means that he was well aware of the "standard" retail price for those thingamajigs. I live in a small town and we don't have any multi-brand sellers, just franchises selling basic, level-entry stuff. Good thing I don't suffer from shinyitis (yet)!

Don't know about you guys in the UK, but here in Italy everybody and their uncle have jumped on the e-cig bandwagon and lots of stores have set up tiny corners where they sell a few vaping-related items. The last in the series is a guy who runs a small shop (totally unrelated to vaping) in my neighborhood.
Well, today I needed a new tank/clearomizer or whatever they're called for my eGo phantom (which usually sell for around €5 or €6 in brick-and-mortar shops and around €3 or less online), so I decided I would go there and have a look at what they had in store. Unsurprisingly, they only had a couple of models of e-cigs and a single brand of e-liquids - but they had the replacement I was looking for, so I didn't let the lack of variety deter me. Until I saw the pricetag, that is: €8 for a phantom clearomizer?! You must be kidding me! He must have noticed my reaction, because he muttered something about letting me have it for €7.50, but I gave him my sweetest smile, wished him a good day and left the store.

Some of you might have read the news in a previous thread of mine, but I thought that what happened deserved a new thread - mods, I hope this is not against the rules. I had ordered some juices from CV earlier this month and they never arrived (see my "Vapemail lost in transit" thread for the details). Well, after reading my post, Lew and Karl got in touch with me and promised to send me a free replacement! How generous is that?! I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy :-)

Thanks for the empathy, you all! Meanwhile, Karl and Lew have informed me that they will be sending me replacement juices. These guys are *great*! It's heartwarming to witness such trust and generosity.

Please join me as I mourn the loss of the two Chefs Vapour e-liquids I had ordered on April 6th Having received today the other three liquids I had ordered a week later (Jungle Juice, Strawberry Vapetto and Caramel Cappuccino), I think I can safely assume that there's someone, somewhere, who's vaping my precious Lemon Coconut Cream Cake and V-I -COUNTS - a pox on them! On the bright side, I can't wait to try the three flavours I've just received. I'm giving them another week to steep, then I'll let you all know my thoughts. Oh - I've just realized that I've reached a milestone toda: a whole month without stinkies! Who would have thought?!

I've just made my second order - the first one hasn't made it to Italy yet, but I couldn't resist the 20% discount! Waiting for them to steep is going to be hard, I can't wait to try them!

Please remember people, that no matter who you are, and what you do to live, thrive and survive, there are still some things that make us all the same. You, me, them, everybody, everybody. Everybody needs somebody Everybody needs somebody (someone to love) Sweetheart to miss (sweetheart to miss) Sugar to kiss (sugar to kiss) I need you you you I need you you you I need you you you in the morning I need you you you when my souls on fire... **** This made my day - thank you!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys! I like it here - can I stay? I promise I'll behave (By the way, English is not my first language - which means I could very possibly make a fool of myself with every other word I write. Should this happen, please don't laugh at me. Not too loudly, at least. A discreet snigger is okay, though. I can live with that.

Hello Malibu, and howdy to all the nice people here! I'm new to vaping (2 weeks without stinkies - go me!) and I've been reading this forum for the last few days but only found the courage to register when I read this post and thought to myself, "hey, here's a question I can actually answer!" The facebook post you quoted makes fun of this research www.mybestlife.com/health/News_2012/September/06092012_e-cigarettes.htmaccording to which e-cigarettes can damage the lungs. The writer lists the main ingredients that can be found in e-liquids (none of which is known to be dangerous, except for nicotine, and then only in huge doses) and muses about the unforeseeable and hitherto unknown dangers of water vapour ("think of all the children who die after an aerosol therapy, not to mention the thousands of people who are killed by saunas or collapse on the sidewalks after venturing out in the fog!"). He then adds that, after researching the issue further, he found out (surprise, surprise!) that the study was entirely funded by Pfizer - the world's largest pharma company - which, among other things, is also the maker of Champix [also commercialized as "Chantix"] - an anti-smoking pill. Ta-daaa! Greetings from Italy, Svapirella
