Maybe you need another easy to change coil atty then?  I do have a dream and mega davide sitting unused but the flavour seems to come across better in the term'.. Oh the joys of vaping! |

It's the price you pay for liking Custard type flavours Dan . . . and the more sweetener you add to an eliquid, the quicker it will also gunk up. So it might be worth cutting that back a bit.  This  but it's god damm worth it  Helpful... veeery helpful! Tease-smiley Tis true! Gotta say you've both done a blinding job with these custard recipes!! So much more tasty than gvc! Better get on with the mixing then.. off to the laboratory  |

Thats not very helpful Perpetua Tease-smiley What setup do you vape your PVC in out of interest? And how often are you recoiling? Bloody typical.. mixed up 10mls of PVC and RVC to compare and they are divine.. so I need to decide whether to live with the constant recoiling or mess around with the flavours to get better life..  Maybe not, but unfortunately that's what happens with sweetened eliquid it caramelizes on the heated coil . . . Rom's just cut his sweetener back to 1% because of the same issues. I use an Evod for Custard flavours and change the head every week, could probably do with being a bit sooner, but I hang it out. Price we pay is extortionate!  Okies, just as well I asked this before mixing up some more.. can't decide between them at the minute so gonna do both  Thankyou Perpetua |

Personally, I tried all the dry burning and other cleaning methods on many of my attys and for me. none of them worked very well. The taste was always compromised. If it works for you, then that's great, but the taste for me was always less than perfect. So I resolved to change the coil whenever it was needed, although after a few hours seems a bit extreme, a couple of days is what I usually manage. But it's what we personally can deal with, I know lots of people on here that go weeks with the same coil. I like my vape to be fresh and clean, that means I change the coil every couple of days and empty the tank every 4 or 5, of burnt/black juice. I'm still working on the amount of time I need to change the SS rope and mesh, but I think once a month is about right. The flavour for me is important and it seems like it is to you as well. So change the coil as often as is needed. It's only burnt on juice and I can't see any way you are going to change that. Changing the coil now takes me less that 5 mins, well worth it. I wouldn't be so bothered if it were a five minute jobby changing the coil in a terminator-c.. takes me at least 20 minutes  Maybe I should keep the custard juices as a treat.. can't be doing with changing the coil every day or two! |

You can get the Scar, 1.2mm and 2mm silica hereNo 3mm though.. HOWEVER silica is £1.50 per metre from there but only 70p per metre from here and they have all three sizes of silica as well as kanthal wire.. |

I see the spam filter is working overtime to stop these K*I*T*C*H*E*N fitters plaguing the forum! Hi Pam OSo there is no prevention but I can clean the crap off to prevent recoiling all the time.. Thankyou!!! There might be a higher tech alternative that doesn't gunk up but the wire wick combo is as high tech as I go  No worries, thankyou for your help! Off to the sink I go!  |

Hey guys. Has anyone got any tips to prevent the coils getting gunked up in an rba? Re-coiled the igo-l last night and within a few hours of dripping various custard juices it is now black. Would wrapping the coiled part of the silica with mesh work? If not, what else can I try? I wouldn't be so bothered usually but the flavour has dropped right off.. Help!!  |
