I think I answered my own question. Taking the bottom pin out along with the internal spring the button seems to reach the top post. This is iffy because with the #8 the button looked to be making contact but a longer button still fixed my problem.
I'm looking for a top replacement pin. If I cant find it I plan on grinding down a brass screw with a dremel.
I'll keep ya posted!

K, so I have a question and potentially an easy easy fix.
Question!!!! xD Will the button (fully assembled) make contact directly with the post that the atomizer makes contact with if you remove the spring?
If so finding a replacement top pin would be amazing because you could shave the top pin down as well as the replacement pin. Use the replacement pin as your bottom post in the switch so that the gap would be directly centered inside the switch and your stock button could complete the circuit.
If the button will not fully reach the post then a thicker top and bottom post might be required. Thanks for any input.
EDIT:: Thicker top post and LONGER bottom post.
