If nothing is connected then quite some time I would say, once you hook up a meter like in the vids it'll start draining it. Not true. A LOW input impedance meter would cause draining. Use a meter w/ 10M or more input impedance

I haven't really had time to look into it Steve, but I will at some time look at adding a discharge post or button and maybe an updated version with a LED voltage readout. I've seen the video of breakthru's last week sometime so don't really remember which res he used but RS should have them if you're wanting to have a go mate. Hmmmm a zapper. Sounds so familiar.... BTW the 15K is not only for discharge but to bleed down the voltage to a set value in case you over-shoot the target voltage. A 1K would give you a quicker discharge but the 15K is better for a slower bleed down to the desired target voltage.

I want to give credit to "Diver" for his "The TSAF" and to mre777 for his idea w/ a disposable camera. A great way to spot weld no resistance wire to resistance coil wire w/ a flash circuit removed from a $6 disposable camera, actually it was 9.95 in CVS because this is a long range flash. This baby cranks out 300+ volts. More info at: See here for more details

I updated the programming code. Code changed for FONT to Black on White I think it looks a lot cleaner. Also, I was able to exceed 30Watts

Very interested to hear your opinion on how it vapes Breaktru! Vape is not as good as it looks. If I block off half of the side air hole it does vape a lot better. What I did was put a piece of tape over the air hole and popped a hole with a staple and that seems to have improved the vape but I'm not totally satisfied.

Had another go at it: Thin walled 3mm Borosilicate glass tubing with a 500 SS mesh powered with my .44 mini boost mod and an 18500 battery. 8 wraps of 28ga Kanthal A1 wire, 4.8 ohms at 6 volts. The glass tubing sits on top of the tank top plate and does not go into the tank. Vapor escapes from the top and bottom of the tubing.

Latest maximum results: 25.44 Watts 4.67 Amps Using a 1.2 ohm Ceramic resistor measuring 1.16 ohms Not bad for a single battery and a PTN04050C

Congrats on your first mix. Sounds like a winner. Some first time DIY'ers don't always like their first recipe. Glad yours worked out good mate
