Not an XFactor fan myself... though this year I'm watching it as a friend of mine is on, and on her audition my wife and a load of their mates went, all in vintage dress, and they had a tea party... they all do the Alternative Women's Institute thing... This was their spread at the Manchester Auditions..

It is indeed a lot of wick.... the 1mm wick will be manufactured especially, though the company only do braided wick, but they're happy to make at that diameter, just with that MOQ. Simply because it's not a common size for them.

I'm happy to buy another 10m of the 3mm & 10 of the 1mm if it helps Tim . . . it'll come in I'm sure. 3mm wick isn't such a problem Perpy, I'm more worried about the 1mm to be honest....

Totals so far for the wick.... I have orders for:-
1mm Wick - 95 metres 3mm Wick - 440 metres
As the 1mm wick has to be manufactured there is a higher MOQ of 200 metres, whereas the 3mm wick is part of their standard manufacturing process so has a MOQ of 150 metres. This means that at present there is a shortfall this order of 105 metres for the 1mm wick. I know what I've previously said, but I can't afford to spend £75 on 1mm wick... so unless the orders for 1mm wick increase substantially, this will have to roll over until next time.

I've just got home, so i'll shortly look at what the order quantities are like. If need be, and if I can afford to (get paid Friday), i'll bump up my order to cover the MOQ for the 1mm, I'm already buying extra 3mm as it is, i'll then just list it for sale on the site at the same price. That way, I can keep a float of it, and theres always some available for those that catch this late on. Keeping I'm the spirit of the group buy, though, it will be listed at the same price, I won't be making any money on this.

Well I'm home now, and I'm going to be boiling some cartos, blowing them out, then trying this.... The logic is undeniable, fluid expands when frozen... Why it's never been thought of I dont know, but Wayne if this works it's going to have to be called 'Wayne's Carto Reviver' or something!

Hi all, just picking up this thread. The group buy is still on schedule for my wick supplier. Original plan was to send out paypal invoices to everyone the monday following my holiday, ie this coming monday, abd that hasn't changed, so not too late to join in... Sorry for the hijack!

A more detailed career background for you all...
Studied theatre and it in college, and studied sword fighting with Bill Hobbs. Worked summer seasons in camelot as a knight.
After leaving college had enough of education and worked as a staging, sound and lighting technician for Fac51/Factory records, followed by a three month stint as a sword fighter on robin hood, not the kevin costner one, worked as a computer programmer (COBOL, Pascal, 6502 and z80), then after a breakup and a period of homelessness, moved to Spain where I ran an italian restaurant, a mexican cantina, a nightclub, a bar, and briefly a swingers club and naturist beach. Returning to the uk, I worked in call centres, shovelled coal in a foundry, packed biscuits, worked in it support, ran my own consultancy, during which time I also got involved with Macromedia and their testing programme, developing web applications professionally and the writing editing.. The rest you all know...

I'm glad it went well Tim . My father's and My Aunt's funerals were great fun. 'Twas a real shame the guests of honour weren't able to be there in the flesh because they would have thoroughly enjoyed themselves Thanks, and yes I know exactly what you mean, Dad would have enjoyed it

Hi Tim, Great to hear off you and so glad everything went well, sounds like your dad must have been a top bloke to have such a great send off. Take it easy pal... Thanks Nadim, everything went very well thanks, and thankfully for me a little easier thanks to the carts you kindly gave me, thank you. He was indeed a top bloke, about 200 turned out to see him off, and 100 at the house afterwards, so quite crowded, but all in all a fitting farewell. Thanks buddy

Funeral went very well, and you couldn't miss it going through warrington yesterday, a cavalcade of vintage cars and bikes following the motorcycle hearse with Dad in his willow coffin. Was well attended and a fitting send off, Dad would have been grinning all the way... Thanks!
