Always steep Cap ON Both PG & VG are hygroscopic, so they will absorb any moisture from the air, diluting your juice. I think the Californians are OK with breathing and Cap off because of the dry climate, but UK is a little different. Steeping is just the oxidation of the Nicotine through the liquid, changing the properties of the flavourings, and darkening the juice. My Zero Nic is cloudy white when mixed, like all Snake Oil is when first made. The Zero never changes colour - the 6mg after 2 weeks is pale yellow - the 12mg is slightly darker - the 18mg is yellow and 24mg is much darker. So you would think leaving the top off is a good idea, to allow the oxygen in to speed up the maturation process - yes but at the detriment of water moisture. A good routine would be a couple of shakes morning an night, to run the oxygen through the liquid - open the cap, squeeze the bottle so new air is going in - replace cap and shake. Then rest it. To speed things up - stand and shake for 30 minutes or instead use an ultrasonic cleaner to do the shaking for you. After first mixing 3 days of 6-8 x 4 minute cycles takes 3-5 days off the steeping time. Just for interest - the word steeping has entered the vaper's language because the old-timers steeped tobacco leaves in a solvent usually PG or alcohol to extract the flavours - same as you do in cooking with fruits etc. they would swap their "steeps" on the forums - meaning an eJuice they had made from tobacco leaves. Tobacco steeps takes forever to mature, so this is where the cross-over to the current use came about. What we are actually doing in normal DIY steeping is actually maturation. Well done if you have managed to read the whole post without without falling asleep - a bit like when I watch Snooker !!! LOL T

Yeh just unsure how much the mesh will change the flavor on it,will i get the citrus or the minty/menthol lol ...just dont want to waste it when you can get the info instead befor you try. And heres me with a fresh 50ml back up lol Backup is good !!! Flavours don't really change or disappear - but they are a little different. Tastes somehow cleaner on mesh, but if you get a little hotspot then yuk!!! Assuming you are gonna use a gennie - then dry tank - wick and coil - sort out hotspots. Then lube up the coil and take a vape or two. This way you can decide before filling your tank. T

hey Tmax while your around, ive only tried snake oil on silica is that the best for it or does mesh do a better job in your opinion ? Both are good as well as cotton also. Really depends on your setup - gennies/mesh these days I don't have the patience with but Snake Oil is different on them. I always preferred silica as it gives a rounded vape in my opinion, but I think it depends on so many other factors. Right now I've just re-cottoned a Taifun and vaping GVC - First puff and I was straight back to a romantic weekend in Amsterdam for my 50th in March last year, where the wind bit cold and Grants vaped like a train on an AGA-T2 with a dual silica wick !!! I think Snake Oil is better on silica and cotton - I always preferred mesh for my Halo Prime15 or HOL Cheers T

Hi Tmax Yep she's PID'ed. I've had Miss Slivia (Rocky is the matching grinder, I used to have that but changed to he Mazzer Jolly you see in the pic) for about 10 years, some 3 years ago I was going to upgrade, but the cost of something better put me off. I decided to overhaul Miss Silva and changed the steam wand and replaced the pressure valve. I was going to get an Auber inst' PID that controlled both boiler and steam temp, as well as the option of a pre-infuse. The Watlow PID only controls the boiler temp but came up secondhand for a good price so went for that. The mods made a great improvement. Miss Silvia has performed flawlessly and kept me satisfied in all the time shes been mine. Great machine. Of course - thought I was wrong when I typed Rocky !!!! I used to do a bit of home roasting (Hottop) - but just buy in now - too busy. I have a Brugnetti 2 group and the same Mazzer as u. Tried tinctures with fresh roasted beans, but it all oxidised way too quickly to be used in vaping.
