Perpetua, it was very wicked of you to send me there. I found a link to a selection of 500 on Fasttech's site. Haven't been there before. They have rather a LOT of goodies, don't they? Guess what I will be doing this afternoon? And I should be working.... But thank you!

Perpetua: This is great news! I did start looking for some tips but quickly discovered there seem to be two basic types - the CE4 sized ones and the standard 510 ones. With the latter, there are very many more designs available. But now you've shown me that adapter thingie, it means I will be able to use any I like - yay! I looked at the second link and the selection of CE4 tips is somewhat limited, but the 510 ones look really cute. And even better, I spied some swivel ones - that sounds just what I'm looking for! Good prices too - do you know of a discount code for that company? Does anyone know of any slightly longer or maybe curved ones? (I have a bit of a metal allergy so can't use cheap metal ones.) Does any company make amazing fancy ones? (Yeah, I know it's going to make my clearos look a bit cheap but at least I can get different coloured ones to mix and match...) And Charon: Oh pur-lease! You'll be telling me next that you don't get shoes, or handbags either..... sheesh. Frilly

This is a real newbie question: is a drip tip the same thing as a mouthpiece?
Now I'm back on the CE4/5 type clearos, I fancy getting a different mouth bit but I'm confused! The info I have seen on drip tips suggests they drip straight onto the atomiser? How does that work then?
What I'm after is either the flat (whistle?) type of sucky-bit or preferably, something angled/curved so I don't look like I'm playing the flute (as my dear Mama tells me...) So should I be looking for mouthpieces or drip tips or are the two synonymous? Are there nice fancy ones available and are they a fairly standard fitting to replace the usual one that comes with a CE4/5?
Many thanks.... (again!)

OK, I have ordered some of those IClear 16s and also a VW battery. I certainly prefer the vape from a CE4-type clearo rather than the Evod. Thanks for all the tips about my Evod needing cleaning or heads changing - I've noticed that when I unscrew the bottom to refill it, it's very gungy. Actually, I'd happily part with my 2 Evod atomiser thingies if anyone wants them - I just don't think they suit me. The performance is the same now as it was the first day I used them - it's never been good really. (See my review.) So if anyone wants them (and the spare heads they came with!) let me know... I'll keep the batteries as they seem fine, though again, I prefer a standard button to the one on the Evod, which I seem to 'miss' or not press down properly. I think a month is enough of a trial period to properly test them but looking at the last few weeks, although I have continued vaping, I really haven't enjoyed it. So it's back to CE4 clearos for me. I've been using one today (an old one) and it is miles better than the Evod. And thanks also for the general tips on swooshing, etc. I now realise that the burny taste I was getting was down to having used the same clearo for months on end... hehe! (Well no one told me when I started that they wore out!!) Oh - did I mention I also purchased eleventeen bottles of juice and some flat mouthpieces? No? Guess I won't mention it to my other half either... Frilly Jane

Well, I've been using the Evod for about a month and the experience has been exactly the same with them from day 1 - hard to draw and not much vapour. Each time I refill I carefully wipe and clean them as much as I can, though I haven't dismantled them or changed the heads - they don't appear to need that. I have no idea what resistance they are - just the standard twinpack kit that is generally sold. (On a side note, these things are an absolute pain to re-fill. You have to turn them upside down and fill from the bottom, not from the top like with a CE4. And when you turn it upside down, the darn thing leaks all over your fingers - this is just from the remaining few drops in the clearo, not me being clumsy putting the new stuff in. It is really annoying - some sort of design fault? Surely this isn't the way it should work?)
I've tried a variety of juice in the Evod, using the same strengths/flavours I used with my previous clearos/ego - it was fine with those so should work equally well with the Evod?
For what it's worth, I have just tried an old CE4/eGo combo. Compared to my Evod, it is a million times better. But it only works for a few mins then starts tasting burny (cos it is old and really needs replacing!) I have no complaints about my Evod batteries - they seem fine - should I consider a different (i.e. non-Evod) clearo to use with them?

I posted here about a month ago, after asking for recommendations for a system to progress to. I bought a twin pack of Evods. You can see my review of these in the Review forum. But I'm struggling! Whether it is the Evod or me I don't know, but vaping just isn't doing it for me now I was happy with the vaping experience from clearos/egos but found them unreliable and often faulty, turning 'burny' or leaky within a very short time. But the vape they gave was good! With my Evod, I seem to have to draw much harder, the throat hit is often poor, as is the amount of vapour obtained - it's not an easy vape - you have to really work at it. And I'm just...not...getting a nico hit. And that means I am eyeing up the emergency pack of stinkies. Please help someone - I am desperate. I just don't think these Evods are working for me. They look/feel ok but just don't vape well Frilly Jane

Hi DJS - what brand of juice is that? All the fruity ones I've tried have tasted very synthetic Also, have you seen my review of the Evod set? (It's in the 'reviews' forum, not surprisingly.) I am still alternating between the 2 devices I got because they seem to get hot after about 5 mins. Any suggestions?

.... but I've just googled and discovered that all discount codes are disabled in August, due to the fact they have a sale on. And, in fairness, this set is discounted from £39.99 to £28.99 so I'm gonna bite the bullet and just buy it.....
.....done!

Nope....can't see a discount code for Myepack there... Unfortunately the site tells me 'aaec20' is not valid.

I'm not sure if its still valid but myepack did have discount code aaec20. I really don't want to pee on your parade but with regard to development of new products, that may be halted in a couple of years if the government have their way. For more information about it please do have a look at the 2 items at the top of the page right at the centre under the advert - they look like this. EVERYONE, Please sign this petition and IMPORTANT Please read this thread
I haven't copied the links - you need to go to the top of the page.
I'm about to order the Evod set but when I tried to apply that code, it didn't work Is there an alternative code? (The product is already discounted but hey - if you don't ask...)

Re. the future legal status of e-cigs/vaping, I honestly don't think it will be banned. It may be restricted/controlled in some way, but so far, attempts to classify it as a medicine in Europe have failed in court. In the end, many, many medical experts are supporting the 'habit' over regular smoking and it's easy to see why. One comment I heard from a renowned doctor was along the lines of 'E-cigs offer a wonderful opportunity for the world to rid itself of the scourge of smoking virtually overnight, and at no cost to governments.' He added that rather than trying to restrict or control their use, governments should be encouraging it.
Prohibition always fails - I remain entirely hopeful (though I am going to sign that petition right now!)

So many hints and tips! This is great - I'm so glad I posted, not just for me but because I am sure lots of other newbies are experiencing the same problems as I am and don't know why. I don't know anyone else who vapes so I've been wandering in the dark till now... My favourite for a replacement kit so far is the Evod one. Does anyone have a discount code to use with Myepack? I might just order one before the day is out... On a slightly wider point, is it just me, or does anyone else feel tremendously excited to be involved in what is - essentially - a 'whole new thing'? Vaping seems to have become a worldwide activity (which I really don't feel is just a 'craze') and a new industry has sprung up to support it, filled with exciting new products. I honestly can't remember the last time a really new 'thing' came onto the market. (Obviously I am excluding such boring and useless techno gadgets as the 'e-mad' and the 'i-pox'...) The possibilities for e-cig design are endless! And considering the rate at which new products are developed and improved these days, I can't wait to see what's around in a few years. Future improvements and modifications I'd like to see are: different shaped devices, perhaps incorporating some sort of holding loop and/or resting stand, different materials for construction or for outer coatings - nice soft-grip textures etc, better carry cases/portable chargers/kit boxes, etc. I'm sure experienced vapers have loads of ideas for good designs - I'd particularly like to get away from the stick-shaped device and see something more curvy What would others like to see?

Wow - this is all really useful info - wish I'd found this site months ago! Thanks for the non-tech explanation of top and bottom coils I don't usually have so little juice in, though I've noticed if I fill them more than half full they have a tendency to leak. Also, I usually stand my device upright so that's probably not helping - I'll keep it lying down in future and do the swooshy thing I look forward to suggestions for a more serious system I could move onto - I'm prepared to buy a whole new kit ... (Came back from holiday last Saturday to find I had been burgled - all my wordly goods gone so I think I need a treat.)
