Thanks for the replies... I've been googling and have discovered the following for anyone who is interested: 1. It's not known exactly what causes thread veins but there are some known triggers. The main ones seem to be sun, alcohol and hormones (such as HRT or the Pill.) 2. Lots of people have them - they are essentially harmless. 3. There is a genetic factor so if your mum had them, tough luck! 4. Laser or a new thermo treatment can remove them completely. 5. Fruit and veg help cos of the effect vitamins have. Interestingly, I didn't see a mention of nicotine which is the important thing here - I'd hate to find my vaping habit is making things worse. I don't drink much and stay out of the sun but my mum has thread veins and I'm on HRT so those are probably my main triggers. Fortunately they're not bad - the laser treatment looks very scary (and is no doubt v expensive) so I guess it's back to Touche Eclat (Apologies for the fact this post has more to do with skincare than vaping...) Hi folks,
I've had a few fine broken veins (thread veins) on my face for years - I was always told this was due to smoking, i.e. nicotine related.
Since I started vaping I've noticed an increase in the number of broken veins with many tiny new ones appearing, particularly around my nose and cheeks.
Of course, it could just be my age (54) but I am somewhat concerned.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Aaaah! I see now! I'd seen the numbers from time to time and clicked on 'profile' but it just took me to....my profile. I now know you have to click on the little number itself and it takes you to a list of all the people who fancy you.... Many thanks... Frilly

Hi all,
Can someone (Chrissie?) please tell me what the numbers mean that appear sometimes next to 'Profile' in the main nav bar across the top?
Thanks,
Frilly

I'm a big fan of the Vermillion River juices. I have several of the Kentucky blends (Premium, No. 7, etc) and they're all good. They do a Kentucky Applewood, Kentucky Amaretto blend and a Kentucky Maplewood, all yummy, as is KY4 - their version of RY4. I can also recommend VR Caramelised Cappuccino - VR are definitely the best juices I have tried.

Thank you to all for the enlightening replies. The problem was definitely the coil (and I'll let you fight over whether it was shorted out or blown...) I've put a new one in now and it really was easy to do, though my fingers still smell of caramelised cappuccino despite having washed them 3 times... All my batteries are now happy to unite with this clearo again. Markm and Charon: I do love your sensible suggestions regarding multi-meters But I guess you know I'm not going to go down that road. I'll admit to the ostrich analogy but at least I also admit to my areas of ignorance and asking for help here always increases my knowledge. And hey - have you seen my beautiful frilly tail feathers?

Well, I'm off to bed now DLD, but I'll have a go in the morning. I've already dripped juice on the carpet when I attempted the tweezer thing so I'm not in the best frame of mind to tackle it now.
Will let you know... and thanks!

Thanks OneDay... But my batteries work fine with (various) other clearos so I don't think the centre pin is depressed. On the last bit of that video, it mentions pulling the centre pin on the clearo out a bit, I tried this with my best pointy tweezers but it doesn't seem to move. I'm reluctant to start messing with my (7) batteries as they work fine with other clearos, but all flash when this dodgy clearo is attached. Except one - with that, the battery light went on and stayed on even when I took my finger off and even after I unscrewed the clearo from hell! (I pressed again and it switched off. When I attached a different clearo it worked fine again - phew.) I think I am more depressed than that centre pin

So there I was this afternoon, vaping happily and all was well. But this evening half my equipment has failed and I don't understand why!
An Evod battery started flashing so I unscrewed the IClear and screwed the battery into my charger. But the little llight didn't go red. I tried a different charger - same thing. I reasoned there must be a problem with the battery though it should have been good for a while yet. I put it aside and tried my other Evod which had charged up earlier and....same thing - when I attached the clearo it started flashing. Strange.... I unscrewed, pressed the battery button and it's not flashing. Tried a different clearo and the battery works fine. So is there a clearo problem? Tried the suspect clearo on another (big VV thing) battery which I know is fully charged. That battery didn't like the clearo either and started flashing straightaway.
So.... I have a suspect clearo - I have no idea what's wrong with it. Could it be that my Evod batteries are ok but just don't need charging? (i.e. why the red light didn't go on?) They seem to work ok with other clearos. Why do my batteries flash when I attach this clearo? Do I need to rebuild it or something? Or just bin it? Is the little round bit inside the bottom (that I can't quite reach) in need of being lifted up or pushed down? I do have some replacement coil thingies but have no idea how to do it (and I'm really not sure I could be bothered.) Also, I have 2 lots of these iclear 16 clearos but don't know what Ohm one lot is 'cos I threw away the box - how can I tell? The second lot I have - which I haven't used yet - are 2.1 but for some reason the spare coils I have are 1.5. I guess that is significant but bu**ered if I know what that's all about.
What to do? At this point I am very tempted to bin the dodgy clearo, start with a new one and hide the spare coils so I don't have to think about that... Suggestions very welcome and apologies for the level of ignorance and dislike of icky or techy things...

I got 10 Yes, I know, I know, I'll never use them all...but they were so pretty! The thing is, I also ordered some more clearos - the new GS-H2 ones that are supposed to replace the old CE4/CE5's. They come in nice different colours, and work fine, but what I didn't realise was that they don't have a separate mouthpiece and are made all in one piece (the plastic part that is) somewhat like a Klein bottle... I'd intended to co-ordinate these with my new mouthpieces, but obviously that won't be happening! I like the flat tips best but there don't seem to be many different ones around, compared to the number of round-ended ones. I'm a bit disappointed with the swivel type - they work fine but look a bit naff. I also got a few adapters so I can use the short mouthpieces with CE4 clearos. Again, these work fine but make the top part look a bit long. Will experiment with combinations... FWIW, I also bought some pretty new batteries and some brilliant chrome stands, which I now need for all my various devices and flavours... (bought umpteen of those too) I'm now going to STOP buying vapey things and buy a load of plants for my new back garden... yay! Frilly

Just thought I'd update this. I'm really pleased with my new clearos and having bought some new juice too, and some whistle mouthpieces, I really feel a whole lot better.
So to anyone else having a wobble, my advice is to tweak your kit! If it's not satisfying the craving, it's probably your equipment at fault rather than your lack of commitment...
Vaping is good again!
Thanks folks.

I think 'pipe' may become the (slang/colloquial) term of choice for me. It's rare to see someone with a pipe (tobacco type) these days so I think that in time, our various devices might just hijack the word. I do use others but some are non-specific and others sound a bit cutesy.
[But as other members (ooh er missus!) have observed, some of us have pet names for our.... other equipment too.... though perhaps that's a thread for a different forum!]
Of course, e-cigs are a completely new product - just look at the amazing range of kit that has become available over the last few years - who would have thought? I suppose it takes time for a generally-accepted new nickname for a product to emerge.
Great to hear everyone's individual name preferences - keep them coming!

I'd be fascinated to know what name people have for their.... equipment!
I was happy with 'e-cig' when I started on skinny ones, but now I have larger, more robust equipment, it seems less appropriate. Of course, 'e-cig' is fine when discussing it with non-users as most people now seem familiar with the term.
But what I'm thinking of is when you arrive home after a long day and your first thought is 'Where is my *****?' I find myself calling it a 'thingie' or a 'doodah' but these are rather non-specific terms. If you use a particular brand, it may be easier - 'Where's my Evod/Vamo?' sounds fine, if that's what you use, but there are so many brand names, it's hard to tell at this stage if one will eventually come out on top and be used generically.
Then there are vaping-related names. Do you say 'Where's my vaper?' Or how about 'Peevy'? (As in PV - personal vapouriser)
None of the above quite work for me. As more and more people join the vaping community though, I really think it would help to have some non-specific, generic-type name to refer to whatever equipment people have.
So what do you call yours?

Thanks Smokey - I appreciate the encouragement. (And I want those shoes!!) Obviously the Evods weren't right for me - I wanted to like them but this past month I felt like I was vaping a stick and it seemed pointless. I couldn't understand why I liked it so much before. My new IClear 16 DC clearos arrived today and I filled one and tried it - couldn't believe the difference and how good it is! But if these don't work out long term, I will have a go at the Smok you recommend. (Can you suggest a good source?) I have been looking at better quality ones and the glass versions appeal - they just seem more robust. I guess with the CE4/5 clearos it's a bit like pound shop lighters - you get what you pay for! You can buy 10 lighters for £1, but half of them are so poorly made they fall to bits before they've run out of gas. I'd much rather get 2 for £1 that worked... Mind you, when I used to use lighters years ago, I had some absolute beauties, so it's not hard to understand why I am so drawn to neat bits of kit
