Just updated to v0005
Temp control is still not working, and still potentially very dangerous to use.
The initial ramp up seems to have gone, but it still doesn't remember an at rest resistance of the coil, so, fire once, then fire again shortly after and the coil will get far too hot as the hotter resistance is used as the starting point.
So disappointed with this...

Could probably be made single coil, if you can figure out how to block one side of the airflow.
The airflow comes out of opposite sides of the center post.
I should have built this with the coils on the opposite side too. as that's where the juice holes are. There are 2 quite small holes in the chimney piece that would be right underneath the coils if i'd built them on the other side, ah well, working ok as it is, but i'll try it the other way next time. Maybe with diagonal coils rather than vertical too, smaller legs...

Arrived today, and it's hmm, interesting...
Almost entirely press fit, so wouldnt advise putting it a pocket. Don't forget to lube the orings before you put it together, I've already cracked one glass tank, luckily it has 2.
Airflow is quite restricted, at its widest air hole it's a little tighter than a subtask mini on its smallest air hole.
Really nice deck to build on though, I've thrown my first build on there in a few minutes, and it's working great, very nice flavour, not loads of vapour as there's limited airflow, but I'm liking it. Not sure if it's the best way to build it, but it seemed obvious to start with dual vertical coils, I'll try to put some photos up as soon as I figure out how...

I'd be tempted to try a nickel build on a different atty Kandesys. A poor 510 connection could show like this too. The adjustable connection of the Taifun has been good on everything so far, but I've just tried an erl clone, with the same results.

Yes, the blurry video I posted earlier show this issue too First fire is 0.22ohms, second fire is 0.83 ohms
Without remembering an at rest resistance the temp sensing mode cannot work, unless you're expected to leave the atomiser for a minute or 2 between vapes? But even so, I don't believe it is working as the series of numbers it cycles through during firing are not altered by having no wick, or a saturated wick, or even with airflow across the coil. It's just a preset series of numbers shown depending on how long you fire it for.
The temp is only shown when in temp mode, so it's easy enough to see what mode you're in

I feel like a glutton for punishment at the minute, so...
I've ordered a euclase atomiser from m-vapes to have a play with. The tank seems to be a press fit (secured by o rings rather than screwed on somehow) which worries me, but the build deck confuses me, so I have to give it a try
Has anyone tried one yet?

paulymeatballs use the reset button and note the 'VER00*' number for us? Mine shows ver0004 if that helps?
I don't think the temp control is working on the m80, it's just running through some preset series of values, but it doesnt remember an 'at rest' resistance of the coil. So the next time you fire it, the hotter resistance is read and the coil will get far too hot and burn your wick.
I've tried various combinations of buttons, but nothing seems to make a difference.

Trying so hard not to be sarcastic now, but that IS the mode I've been trying to use the ni200 coil in

Yep, menu 1 now has 3 options Wattage mode, temperature mode and mech mode.
There is menu 2 to see and reset the puff counter.
Menu 3 is to set the date time, shown if you press the fire button when locked.
And menu 4 to choose the temperature.
Menu 5 is to power off

I sent ash a msg via myepack yesterday, he was going good to investigate further, so I'll leave it there for now
Might try a few odd button presses, see if I can get it to do anything differently, but at the minute I think it just doesn't work

I have a feeling the M80 is either not detecting the coil correctly and is firing the ni200 just like it would kanthal, or you have to set it manually for nickel. Similar failure in instructions to the M50/M65. Yep, gotta agree with this, feels like there's something missing. It's not seeing the ni200 as ni200, fires the same as it does for kanthal in temp mode.
Nothing obvious in the menu, choice of temperature and whether to use wattage / temp / mech mode
Nice device though, but I'd probably have bought the istick 50 if this didn't advertise temp mode for just a couple of quid more...

Just tried resetting a few times, but no difference
Think I'll have to wait until someone else can try.
Works great for kanthal though, can't fault it so far in normal mode.
Nothing useful in the manual,, 200 to 900F resistance between 0.1 and 3 ohms.

Here's a quick video of what it's doing
Made a much bigger coil this time. 0.22 ohms at rest (reads the same on the dna40)
Also, after firing once, the 'at rest' resistance isn't remembered, and it rereads as 0.83
