Just got my order this morning and now up and vaping on my itazte SVD with a Kanger Protank II (modded with a tinted glass). I feel like Luke in Return of the Jedi holding this! Thanks to VapeEscape for supplying all parts, and all those who helped me when I joined this forum a short while ago.

Thankyou Andy for all your help today, but I think we were chasing rainbows with this "peculiar ended" [Jaguar] EGO model, still its more fun with company . Can hardly wait to have the discussion on where to go next, but I was a rolly smoker so I'm gonna need power, and style of course. We can do that then I've recovered from my first foray. Its a bit of a science (bit... laughs).

Hi guys, Fagsareus, that is some fantastic tracking down, and that should be the answer, but having compared the screw threads, they are different to the atty, and so one or another would get de-threaded in trying to attach it, plus the fitment is just not long enough to reach all the way down to the electrical contact (if it even is, I don't have multimeter which would prove it).
Any way, following Karma's advice, I've had a reply to my paypal dispute - first contact with ukecigstore and they have agreed to refund in full if I return the kit. Although they have also refused my refund, which means there may yet be trouble if they deem that the batteries are working properly. We'll have to wait and see I guess. So I'll package everything up and send it back in the morning and we'll see. Again, I'll let you know.
You've all been great help, and hopefully I'll be on soon asking what to buy instead. Karma, I have an alternate basic EGO kit now very similar to the one you pointed out so on the right lines, but I'll be looking for something a bit more powerful and special. We'll have that conversation another time - feet up, glass of wine... vapes... ah.
BTW the charger is the USB standard one with a short cable then the little power adapter with the male EGO screw fitting, just the one you get with most of these kits, same as the other one I got.
Thanks xxx

Perhaps, shortly after this model which its main feature is the LCD power indicator which I though was handy, we get EGO-Twist and other VV / VW models, then passthrough USB, two big innovations which might have stopped production of this rather sad sibling by comparison. So those who shall not be named, buy up a cheap end of run batch, flog em quick and remove it from the site when they have lots of problems with them???

You did try the 4 clicks to turn it on nix Fagsareus... Its just 3 clicks for this model :-*On similar models I have read that you have to make sure the LCD screen has displayed "off" before charging, which I have done.

stupid question you seen if the charger fits that end instead? its actually the same size, like you look at an ego connection on the charger, well this is the same (slightly different screw thread) but on the battery. But its male to male so... you know. Nah I think its not for charging, I don't think we were meant to see it - screws off easy enough though, but the thread is incompatible anyway.

I get the refund, I won't care. We can all have a lie down... Fagsareus, no need to apologise, you were trying to help me, and I appreciate that. I thought if I mentioned the USB passthrough it might confuse. Its just helpful to compare sometimes. I'll be strictly following the advise on here from now on, no more going solo.

Okay .... it looks like your little beast needs a specific charging lead. I've been trying to find some info on this sucka for twenty minutes now, with no luck. Mind you, I have a shit internet connection so the web trawling is very slow ....... Did they not provide a charger for the peculiar end? The mind boggles. Jag. (Not fond of mysteries.) I've given up Jag, I think its one of those things you spend a long time trying to find and find nothing, is it a white elephant? Its hard for you guys, I wish I could just show it to you, but looking at the photo again made me realise I don't think it does anything, just a dumb terminator.

I'm starting to think its just a terminator for the battery but not for charging as the screw thread is not fine or elegant like the removable parts, its quite a wide rough thread. As you see on the photo they haven't finished the base off, as its got production marks which they haven't bothered to polish out, as it isn't meant to be seen. The cap covers it all up (which is nicely polished). So why they won't charge off the atty end still puzzles me though. Thanks for the links to the e-liquid sites, checked out a couple of those and was suitably impressed with the variety and taster packs. Give yourselves a pat on the back

Hi Fagsareus, Sorry to avoid any confusion I just said "the bottom screws off the battery like a micro usb pass-through battery", but it isn't a USB connector. Its looks like another battery terminal like at the atty end. In the attached photo, the atty end is on the left, the mystery screw off end is on the right next to the cap which was removed.

Thanks Andy, both of the chargers I have will charge the little EGO XL batteries I got from vapour-room.com when I thought I wasn't going to ever receive the above order. So I know the chargers are ok. On a positive note I can recommend vapour-room.com who managed to deliver my whole order the next day after those who shall not be named let me down. Their menthol and ice mint (I found the menthol vaping to be closest to a real smoke initially) are a bit (very) albas oil tasting for my liking, so I'm still looking out for a good minty menthol juice.

Dispute opened in paypal, I've requested a full refund so we'll see what happens... Thanks again guys. I'd still like to know though if anyone knows how to charge one of these? Or has even seen one.

Jag, Karma, Andy, wow, thanks for your quick replies. In all the messing about trying to get it to work I forgot that it was a paypal transaction, ordered on 24/09/2013 so I think I'll follow your advice Karma and open a dispute through paypal, which wasn't an option I'd considered. As you say Jag it is a strange little beast, great as well if only for this charging problem. Oh well, off to paypal, I'll let you know how I get on... And thankyou all!!! Andy, the link you gave is to a product which seemed to replace mine on the website. It is a very close match but doesn't have the idiosyncrazies of mine probably. I seem to always get myself in trouble, I think I'm a feet first person

Hi everyone,
I've been reading the posts and found the forum so helpful and everyone so nice , I thought I'd jump in and register. I've been vaping for 2 months or so, and have stopped smoking completely after 15 years in that time. I previously tried everything... gum, pills, patches, puffers, champix, you name it, and with some short lived successes, but inevitably always ended up back on the fags. But the vaping is great, and I couldn't imagine going back to the fags, I mean I just don't want to. Congrats to all of you who've given up the terrible fags too, I've read many of your posts.
I've been trying to find a moderately cheap and effective batty/atty setup (I hope I got that right, if batty turns out to mean bum i'll be very embarrassed ) which would get me up and running and bought a kit from ukecigstore.com in the end... bad move.
It isn't that its a bad product per say, its a "Viva La Riva Digital LCD KIT New 2013" (it took over a fortnight to arrive and they still haven't sent the juice I ordered at the same time but that's another story). The batteries both work out of the box and are/were fully charged, the problem is, I cant get the batteries to charge. Now I know about lifting up the atty end connector and I've tried that to no avail. With this model though (and I have no instructions, model number or anything with the kit), the bottom screws off the battery like a micro usb pass-through battery, and low and behold there is another electrical terminal.
Trouble is its screw thread is not compatible with the provided charger any provided charger or any I can find on the Internet. The atty end connects to the charger as you would expect, but it doesn't do anything on either of the batteries. No light, nothing at all, and I have another EGO charger and the result is the same, screw on the atty end up real snug but , no lights, nothing. I can't find another single example of this EGO model to compare it to or find instructions, and ukecigstore.com have stopped listing the product. I've tried e-mailing them for about 2-3 weeks without a single response, phoning and being told to email by the automated service. So I just have no idea how to get these batteries charged.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I only have a little bit of hair left (oh I've put a picture up so you can see it).
Thanks,
nix
