Why the blazes are original atties so hard to buy? I almost fell of my chair when I saw the low price of a Kayfun clone recommended on this thread and the russian one has mega good reviews. For no logical reason I did ( am loosing the will now ) fancy the penelopy or the newly discovered by me at least ithaka but they are rarer than platypus eggs for breakfast. If the inventors cant actually bring them to market ( dragons den speak ) why bother. The official vendors are out of everything. But fasttech sells them ( I take it they arnt an official vendor ). Seriously in no other busness would your product be unavailable and you retain credibility.
I think its the russian thingy for me and damm good it looks . Thanks guys you have all been really helpful.
On a positive I brought a sample pack from Chefs Vapour and am looking forward to some new juices.

Sorry Lads...afraid I nabbed the Spheroid and kick. Not sure how the rest worked out, but that much is definitely gone and hopefully here tomorrow. So it stays on the wish list . So you now splitting the package. I did not realise .A practical move. Guide prices are as per your list ? Richard

PBussardo gave the spheroid a good review. A bit like cartomiser but rebuildable.
It is added to my wish list.

I don't know what your dripper is richardb2 but I imagine cotton wool would work fine. I use cotton wool & microcoil in my Igo-L. I bought organic cotton wool pads from Boots, they work fine. The Golden Greek doesn't use res/no-res wire in his videos, but I think most other people do. The construction is the same as my Nautilus. I actually have all res in that atm, but I double-twist the wire, and it is .28, for the microcoil, so it is not that high res in the first place. And it is still a faff compared to the kayfun. I haven't used the Nautilus recently - it has started tasting a bit burnt and I haven't bothered to rewick it. Blimy Giles what do you mean you double twist the wires. Its all ( golden ) Greek to me . Seriously I just watched a couple of vids on youtube and they all attached these no resistance wires to the end of the coil wire. Do you think that is un- neccesary? If I understand resistance correctly ( more youtube) a thicker wire ( is .28 thick ) has less resistance so maybe thats akin to no resistance wire? I seem to have gone off topic looking for the best vape and all of a sudden seduced by a lovely name and pretty atomiser. I do fancy it though. For the record following the cruel pickpocketing of my vamo and Davide atomiser on my remaining ninja/korean mech I have an IGO dripper and an Octopus Dripper . The IGO is a fat shiny thing the octopus a skinny one. The Octopus is suppose to have about 8 thin wickes but in my rebuild has one big one, sometimes two . I actually brought off ebay a magnifying glass on a stand to even stand a chance at coil making. It is far from perfect but they glow red hot and I haven't had a B & H for weeks now. Thanks for replying Richard

Ones off Amazon best and happy with them, smell of nothing and no weird tastes. Organic means doesn't automatically mean safe but its a attempt at it lol. Do you or other members have a link to good cotton? Thanks Richard

richardb2I think there are 4 main types of RBA - Penny/nautilus, aga/oddy, kayfun/russian, and spheroid. Penny/nautilus are usually a bit more expensive and need res/no/res connections, and in general are more of a faff to build. Aga/oddy are cheap & easy to use, but if you turn them upside down the juice falls out. Kayfun/russian in my opinion give the best vape and are easy to recoil and leak-free. But originals are expensive and clones mostly seem to need work after you get them - cleaning swarf out of the tubes, maybe pfte tape on the filling screw, maybe redrill or some other trick to get rid if the whistle. But once that is done they are great. I recommend a tobeco kayfun clone and cotton wool in micro-coil. Enjoy! Thank you Giles a helpful reply. I think there is a consensus on Kayfun style atomisers. In the classifieds though there is good looking atomiser called a penelope v1 research says its by golden greek. It needs no resistance wire attached to the coil wire which will be a bit of a faff. Looks pretty and the price is right to have a go and maybe have change for a russian clone as advised by the honerable members of the forum. Certainly under the more faff to rebuild category. Maybe I can try the cotton with my dripper? Happy days choices choices .....Richard

Thanks all . I have not tried cotton wool wicks yet. Maybe a trip to boots ( or a rumage in my wifes draws ) is in order. The Kayfun or versions of it seems to have a lot of fans here. I will look at that.

Dear all about 4 months ago I got an ego and a vaporiser . Heaven. Except it gumed up after a week. Step two research and I got a vamo variable voltage mod and a pro tank ( it leaked like a so and so ) A Davide atomiser was a dream and I got spare heads for it . Loved faffing with the variable voltage thing though the threads on it sucked. I then got a mech mod with mega funky Korean stuff along the barrel ( I have no idea now what it is called but it was about £35-40 if I remember). Looks good but needed a bit of super glue to sort out a loose screw, I also got two dripping atomisers. I am now making ( badly ) my own coils round silica wick ( Coil buddy ordered ) for my dripper . My Vamo, in full lightsabre mode, got swiped so now i have my mech and drip atomiser.
I just got paid a few quid ( just a few ) . Next step a proper rebuildable.
My question.
Some rebuildables use a wire mesh some the same silica wick i use for my dripper ( I think ) . Being a neat and tidy bloke is it best to carry on with the silica and if so what do you recommend. Or maybe if the mesh ones are better and given the mesh and silica are not expensive any recomendations?
lastly Clones.
I am all up for supporting the genuine inventor and going for quality but at what cost? If its a matter of of few quid I can do but some high end stuff is a hundred quid or more.
Been working 6 days a week for ever and deserve/need/want something better than I have.
I am not very technically minded but came to this forum via your excellent intro to vaping thread that had a lot of instructional videos ( even got a volt meter on the strength of what I lerarned. But I can follow instructional videos so am not intimidated by rebuilding things I know it will take patience and practice.
Just want a damm good vape.
Thanks all Richard

Ditto to the above posters
My first post on this site I was reading a beginners guide. Just the thing to help me get some some symetry to my manky wick making attempts so far. Please pm me in due course with payment details etc,
