Oats .......even better! Every morning I have sweet cinnamon porridge.............would be an awesome vape Off to order some oats That's given me an idea kreed. To combine it with some Capella Gingerbread, which is a lovely soft blend of spices - Horchata, Egg Nog and Sweet Cream I might also experiment with. Sweet cinnamon porridge - That sounds amazing! Lets us know how it turns out if you do get around to mixing it up...

So how would you go about sampling individual flavours and what proportions? does it mean more bottles Yep, more bottles!! I just get packs of the 10ml needle tip ones from FT as they're cheap as chips and ideal for flavour testers. You can then make up sample bottles using your preferred pg/vg/nic ratio. I know some people do them without nic, but my personal feeling is that I want the nic in there so it all steeps together properly and is a true reflection of the end result. I usually do a lick test to see how strong a concentate is (do not do this with Koolada!!!) and also google to see what other people recommend it's mixed at. For example, I know FA are alot more concentrated than FW, so I make FA testers at lower % and FW ones I tend to make much higher. (when it comes to using the flavours in recipes you then have a starting idea to work from if you know what x concentrate tastes like at say 4%). My way of simplifying the above, so you don't have to get all your mixing stuff out and add individual pg/vg/nic to each sample, is that I keep a 100ml bottle made up of my own preferred pg/vg/nic ratio, that I've already factored in adding 5% of concentrate to (obviously sometimes I'll add more than 5%, sometimes less, but it's only a tester so it doesn't matter if this increases or decreases the nic in the tester. It's not going to make a big difference at such a small amount). So then I just pour 5mls of that mixture into a 10ml empty bottle, and add the required amount of concentate. Job Done As for how I test them - I use my old faithful Igo L dripper, which is as basic a dripper that you can get and absolutely perfect for this. It's single coil, no adjustable airflow, and a push on top cap with one air hole (I drilled mine a bit as the stock hole was just to small). It's the easiest way I've found for doing this anyway. Just drip onto the cotton, and then if you are trying to see what x flavour tastes like with y flavour, then mix away. When you want to change then whip out the cotton and replace, and away you go again. Because its not got a deep drip well you're not wasting loads of juice, you can literally just use enough for your test, or then add a bit more if the other flavour you try with it is overpowering etc. Sorry for such a long rambling explanation!!!

spacey I've just recently found Waynes site Diy or Die and ordered a rake of stuff for some of his recipes, the site is great for flavour info especially for me being new, now I'll have to order again lol just need marzipan & chocolate, Chefs Vapour amongst others are having a field day with me at the moment icon_shoppingm Haha you gotta love diy - there's always one flavour missing!! Yep, I've watched his diy or die vids and enjoy his style, he makes me laugh I've been meaning to make Bronuts for ages but am missing CAP choc donut, in fact chefs sent me an email saying it was back in stock yesterday, so I'll order some this weekend. I did make his Funfetti, but so far it isn't really doing it for me. It's been steeping for eons now, but I don't seem to taste what everyone else does unfortunately. Can't win 'em all I suppose!! I just don't seem to like the FA Joy - no matter how long it's steeped for I still get a flat beer taste from it Have fun making mixes - if I can offer just one piece of advice it would be to learn your flavours individually before making recipes. I know it seems like a pain when you want to just get stuck in, but from my experience I only started having success once I understood each flavour. Plus, you can then mix little bits of your flavour testers together on a dripper to see what works well and what doesn't

I've now updated this recipe (see first post) and to me it's a million times better! Although I enjoyed it as it was, I've now found that using FA Chocolate and adding either TPA Bavarian or FA Vienna Cream improve it no end Perpetua - if you get a chance, would you mind altering the verison that is posted in the recipes thread? Many thanks

Hi xtc263, First off you persuade OH that you really really need a 10 foot by 8 foot garden shed and then you equip it with a chest freezer in one corner for your stash of nic base and the other corner with a desk for mixing and a couple of racks for concentrate. It works!!!! I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this!! Oh god I sound like such a saddo - I swear I used to be interesting...

I ventured into mixing due to a custard being changed and it was one of your posts on your search for this that made me realise I need to stop trying to create a certain custard as I could spend a life time trying to re create it and never get there, its also the reason I wont get GVC - why would I want to do that to myself. As I said don’t get me wrong I'm not bashing it or anyone who buys it, I prefer that the supply for me is now down to me and the Concentrate makers Nope - you are of course quite correct and I need to remind myself of that more often!! It just seems to have taken me a good deal longer than anyone else to come up with my own perfect (to me) diy custard. 14 months is ridiculous - but then I guess I always knew (until the last few weeks) that I could get hold of some grants on a fairly regular basis. Half of me wishes I'd never tried it so my own mixes wouldn't have had so much to live up to

The whipped vanilla cream is good i have used in a butterscotch mix it definitely made a difference. Ooh I just got some of this - is it a lot different to TPA whipped cream? I was thinking of adding it in with some Horchata and stuff... (actually buttersctotch sounds a good partner for it)

xtc263 I bought a 2 storey bread bin from Argos and these perfect green trays off ebay. Each green tray holds 20 x 10ml concentrate bottles. (Or obviously less if you buy bigger conc's). It works for me because I have them all organised and catalogued so I know exactly where each one is - I realise this is a little bit obsessive but it makes my mixing so much easier

MrDJ - Brilliant news!! I did my daily check last night and nearly fell over when I saw the sale date on there I am so looking forward to getting hold of some I cannot say enough make your own and never be that concerned again what they are charging or changing, hand on heart you wont look back.. I've been making my own ejuice for 14 months. I just love GVC, it's the only premix eliquid I buy. No other custard has come close to it for me (even though I've made so many, and some are extremely tasty - just not GVC type of tasty. It's like a different sort of custard taste). Saying that though, my never ending diy custard project has - as of last week - finally produced something that (to me) is very, very nearly as good as GVC. Just need to re-produce it in big bottle size... At least I now don't have to panic if I can't get hold of it in future!!
