spacey, gosh, I knew the NV coils were good, but that's amazing. Just an idea, but could you perhaps use a small toothbrush to gently brush the coils after you dry burned them? I've thought about trying this, but tbh making a new coil is so quick........go for it, if you like faffing you'll enjoy it (and enjoy saving money buying the darn things and with a bit of Kanthal in stock you don't run out either. Win, win)

spacey just find this guide from supershiny, it makes it all so simple. I don't have a mandrel, just use a small screwdriver shaft which I roughly measured to around 2mm diameter (I think) but I did buy an ohms/volts tester, although if you've got an MVP you can check the ohms with that. We had a blowtorch thing, but others use those power cig lighters or even a gas cooker (we don't have gas!) I've got a NV mini tank and mini protanks too and they are really easy to recoil and wick and it's even easier to change just the wick and dry burn the coils to clean them. Folks on here are so helpful, and the guides make it easier to understand. As everyone says, just go for it. The NV comes with a spare head IIRC, so even if your first one goes wrong you can still vape while you try again, but tbh my first coil worked ok. It's good how threads help lots of people too. Have a go and let us know how you get on.

chykensa, again thank you for that info. I'm asking all these questions because I'd like to start mixing my own liquids fairly soon, I like the idea of making my own flavours in strengths I like and as I'm not over bothered about nic strength, I think I could happily mess around with tastes. So that led me to the.....what can I use to try flavours out rather than fill a protank, change wick, fill, change etc cos although it's quite simple to do, it's a bit faffy. So, come next income day, I'm aiming to get the basics for mixing, then I'll look at an igo dripper and a kayfun. Hopefully I'll be on it before my son visits at the end of August so I can show him how much fun it all is too. And I'll get him signed up here whether he wants to or not! So, once again AAEC members, thank you for all your excellent help, advice and friendship. I still can't quite believe that I've finally stopped the cigs, never, ever thought that would happen.

Greg thank you for those links....I really should have known ss would have some somewhere So basically a kayfun is a tank without a separate head thing? (As in protank etc) looks fairly straightforward to do, just practice perhaps? It's now on the wish list. What do people use to test different juices? Now I'm confusing myself.......kayfun first I think

chykensa thanks for that info, I've got an MVP so maybe that would do? Ok, so I can build a coil and wick, but I'm still at a loss as how you actually use them? It looks like a tank? Do you fill them like a regular tank or is there a different method? I think I'd best google a YouTube vid or two before I drive peeps mad with daft questions. babs thank you for that link, looks very similar to the mini protank......but cheaper even than myepack!

Seen as you can coil sleedale maybe consider a kayfun lite RBA Like this one? all the rba's I've seen caution about only being used by advanced users, which isn't me And ruffdog, that link explains what they do, but not really how to do it.....what the heck is a bridge? Where is it? Etc etc. sorry for being so dim, but words of one syllable or even better, pictures and I might start to understand

Thanks to this ace forum I've progressed from aspire bdc tanks and ego power, to mini protanks 2 NV mini and protank 2 with MVP and spinner 2 power, which I'd never have discoverd on my own, so thank you ive also learned to make my own coils, rewick coils, dry burn and rewick so saving time and money, so thank you once more and I'll be heading off into mixing hopefully, when I can buy some basic supplies to start off, so another thank you so.....what other tanks could I look at that I'd be able to make coils for? All the shineynew superduper ones seem to be dual coil, vertical coil, or more complicated things......oh, and some of them are not cheap! I don't want loads, just a couple more maybe, or should I just stick to protanks, mini or otherwise or NV? I'm also a bit curious about drippers? (sounds slightly odd) People seem to use them for testing juices? Don't understand them at all? and just in case In advance

Two days I've been trying to get this undone. Two days. I've just realised, up until now, my entire life, I've opened jars/bottles/etc left handedly whilst being right handed. That's not as mad as it sounds......I'm right handed...thinking about it, I unscrew jars and bottles holding with my right hand and turning the lid thing with my left, cos my right hand is stronger than my left and holding needs more strength than turning (think that makes sense) and yes.....just pretended to unscrew the protank from the MVP and.....yup, hold in right, unscrew with left...... Weird, so maybe using right hand means you put less pressure onto it.....or something

I am a stage nearer mixing Perpetua and laireyI've made a written list of what and where from and the ingredients for the above are high on the list......but then again so are a 'few' other flavours I think I might like, use and mix just need some dosh and I'm on it! I had to write it down cos I can't remember where I've seen what at how much. Think I'll treat myself to a new mixing notebook and print and stick and write vendors and recipes down in it. I love making lists!!! Think I need to get out more
