You need bleach , sulfuric mixed about 15 ish % like your tank , nail varnish , acetone and a tub of water.

Dye, mask pattern with nail varnish .
Dip in bleach , rinse in water , dip in acid, rinse in water. Repeat until dye has gone
Re dye (or just leave silver) Seal and then remove nail varnish with acetone

I started with a £2.99 tomato tray from wilkos and a car battrey charger. Out grew that quite quickly . Biggest problem you will come across with a small tank (apart from things not fitting in it) is the heat build up . Too warm and the pores get to big and won`t trap dye.

Ive never tried wax but prep is the key to good anodising . Too much faffing trying to mask things off generally leads to a poor finish (for me anyway). I prep , scrub with washing up liquid then don`t touch it again and give it a few mins in caustic and a good rinse.

Ive done a bit of splash anodising . for that I use nail varnish to mask the dyed bit then strip off the dye I don`t want with bleach and acid baths (don`t mix bleach with acid or you get chloride gas) then re dye with another colour . Works well

Woods nice but brass is nasty . too smelly and dirty . Hate machining the stuff too. Its a right job to clean all the chips up and they end up in your hair , up your nose and in your pants

I like it all black dalealan . Nice and simple . To add another colour to the letters would be a right pain though masking it all off .

I refill at around 1/4 of a tank then run that fill down to pretty much nothing . Strip, wash, re wick and start again . I rarely run more than 2 tanks of juice through without a strip wash and re wick .
