Juice has a very long life at least a couple of years and then it's just a flavour drop not bad. A lot of juices improve loads with age too. When mixing usually fruits take a few days, tobaccos a couple of weeks and desserts about a couple of months to reach their best. This is known as steeping basically shake it in the bottle and put it away in a darkish cool place. They can be used before just improve with steeping. Ah, so that's why it's best to get a few shop bought ready to go one's while your mixed one's ferment so to say, yeh?

If you got the Dekang flavours, most of them are good to go Yeh I've ordered the Dekang one's to get a feel for the vaping gig.....So when I get my kit, could I put a drop or 2 of the menthol in the tobacco one? or do I need to get a different kind of base juice.....my head's hurting already LOL

Welcome to the friendliest vaping forum on the net Shaun You'll be up and running in no time with this lot to help you along. Good choice on the evod kit. I'd recommend you get some 1.8 ohm heads for it. You'll get a much better amount of vapour with these installed (your juice will go down quicker but your battery will last longer... i think?) Good choice on the juice too. RY4 and Menthol are good all rounders and actually work really well when mixed together. Was a revelation to me first time i tried this. With the brands i had at the time got a flavour similar to murray mints. Was lush! What brand of juice did you get? And yes get into mixing your own juice at the soonest possible opportunity. It's great fun and very satisfying when you get it right. Just have some shop bought juice as backup in case it all goes t**s up... lol. Will save you many pennies which you can re-invest into shiny new kit for the welcome.....Murray Mints eh!! sounds like I'm going to have some fun experimenting.....I just got the silver label ones from Myepack with my kit(I don't know if I got the right stuff).....I'll get it all together then and take my first steps in the vaping world... I can't wait to get it and find out what I've been missing. I don't really want to get into the convenience of using the local shops when you can buy your 'stash' online adding different flavours along the way. When my kit arrives, I'll get online and order some different ones to have a mess around with.....Can you tell me how long a life the bottled juice has and does it go 'off' if left unopened

weewah - I'm a bit late in welcoming you to the forum, as you have already received some great advice. Nevertheless, as has already been said, we've all been where you are and have made the mistakes and learnt from them. There are a few things you need to know! 1) CaptainChaos is to be treated with caution LOL - 'Hellfire' juice is a vicious chilli juice with a hellish afterkick, so not to be contemplated until you are feeling a whole lot more adventurous. Also he has enough vaping gear to stock a department store, so claims that he has been frugal must be treated with a chunk of rocksalt! 2) Vaping is really taking off, as you are indeed testament to. Those in Big Tobacco (BT) and Big Pharma (BP) are on their back foot at the moment because they have had life their own way for so long and are now losing loads of money because vapers aren't (yet) paying them any tax or profits. There is a lot of false scaremongering going on to try and dissuade people from vaping so that they still stick with tobacco and cough up (see what I did there!) money for them. Fortunately the vaping community has some great allies, Clive Bates being one of then, who stick to the facts and peer-reviewed studies which are well-respected throughout the scientific community. BT and BP don't like these people, so try to diss them at every opportunity, and we can see right through this, to their chagrin. 3) vaping is great fun, and this forum is full of enthusiasts and part-time vapers alike whose experience and generosity is legendary. You will never be stuck for an answer, and will learn so much. 4) your health, wallet, family and friends will all benefit from you recent purchases, and you will quickly become an ex-smoker who has an alternative and much safer way to enjoy nicotine. Ask away, it's the best way to find out the answers, and hopefully you will soon be vaping happily on your Evod kit. BTW, you don't have to mix into the needle bottle first - simply add a few drops of another juice into the Evod when refilling and take it from there. You might come up with the next great recipe. Speak to you again soon, no doubt! Andy chykensa Another thank you to you chykensa for your welcome and again some words of wisdom....Cheers

So the journey begins.....Ordered the double Evod starter pack with the 650mah and while I was at it, 1x10ml bottle of RY4 & 1x10ml bottle of Double Menthol & needle bottle (hope I got the juices right) and so I now await my 'vapemail'.......Just a quick thank you to you all for your valuable information and wealth of knowledge, it's very much appreciated.......Cheers

So I'm assuming that you enjoy it more than smoking then.... snickering_smileyLOL......I'm only asking because you hear all sorts of things about what's in the juice and the healthiness aspects of the juice contents.....I don't know if these people are just on a mission to put the wind up 'vapers' or is there any substance to their claims!! weewah There is a lot of negative rubbish talked about Vaping & E-Cigarettes, people making false claims that are not even qualified or have done no research making claims about how bad Vaping is. Many have links to tobacco companies who pay these people to lobby Politicians and spread false information about. Just yesterday on Twitter there was a Guy saying 2 children had died from poisoning from E-Cigs in Ireland. When pressed for proof he was unable to supply it despite saying the story had been published in a paper in the Irish Times in Ireland and reported on the news. A search on Google showed there were no such stories. The other thing you'll hear is that e-liquid is poisonous in small amounts. This is TOTALLY false! You would have to ingest a large amount if e-liquid to kill you, and even then it has been shown that if you did drink e-liquid it will make you sick long before you had enough to kill you. Interestingly it was recently announced that there is to be an investigation to some top flight MEP's that have links to tobacco companies. Contrarily I can point you to many Peer Reviewed Studies into E-cigs that show that they do not harm users. Just google "Clive Bates" a former Director of ASH and see what he has to say about the E-cigarettes. There are MANY vapers around that have used E-cigs for in excess of 5 years, I was an early adopter as yet I have not heard of any detrimental effects among long term users. Many people that stop smoking have remarked how much better they are; effects of progressive COPD due to smoking stop amongst those that switch to vaping. Don't believe everything you hear, check what others put forward as "Facts" especially the nay sayers who have nothing to back up their unfounded claims. Cracking answer DiscoDes and I will Google Clive Bates....The thing is mate, the Government has made a rod for their back here....They've taxed cigs to the max knowing that a smoker will always pay whatever to feed their addiction. Some decided though, and I admire those people who quit with no help & just pure will power, that it was too expensive an addiction and kicked the fags in touch. Then the E-cigs come along and help people off the fags as well thus putting a very big dent in the ciggy revenue coffers. So I suppose it's understandable now that they try & move the goal post's.

weewahIf you like the idea of mixing your own liquid, do it sooner than later. There is a way of doing which is far more simple than having 4 different bottles of "stuff" and calculators and .. (the list goes on...) You can buy ready-mixed unflavoured liquid that just needs putting into a bottle (10ml, 30ml, whatever) and a squirt of flavour. (then leaving/steeping...) www.ltecigs.larsentilbrook.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=61_84_85I made some RY4 Nutzilla flavour on Wednesday, which I'm vaping on right now. 9.5ml of base liquid and just under 1ml of flavour. Couldn't be easier. All for less than 70p. You can do Menthol or Citrus or many others really easily. It's only *posh* ones that require complicated recipes. If you were to try some shop-made liquid from LT and find one you like, chances are they would do the concentrate. That's how I'm doing it. Work my way through the most of the "shop" at LT and then start making my own of the ones I like the best. So if I bought a 10ml bottle of 18mg VPG and a bottle of say bubbly menthol from LTecigs, how long would that bottle last approx.?

Looks like I've got my work cut out then!! So you can just experiment with anything until you hit the right taste? Are the flavours strong & do some over power others? Sorry for being a menace but I really am clueless (it's my age I think!!) Yes just have go at adding one flavour to another, you don't have to make a full 10ml bottle, just 1ml of one and 1ml of another to see how they taste when mixed together. Some flavours are strong enough to make your eyes water. You can get some strong menthol's and aniseed, too overpowering for me to vape on their own, but great for adding just a bit to spice up what you make. Tobacco's are the hard one, to find something that resembles what you are used to, For me it was a case of using the least offensive which was Virginia, and now i add other flavours to it, i find it very nice when mixed. RY4 is another popular tobacco, this one is more like 'old holburn' which has more flavour than Virginia. Don't worry about asking questions, we don't mind trying to give a few pointers to help out. Woohoo, I can't wait to get into this mixing malarky, it sounds fun......well not the eye watering bit but everything else....You lot are like little scientists

weewah A from me too. The great thing about this forum is we've all been where you are now, we have made the mistakes and we have found the solutions so you don't have to make them, we can help guide you through especially as a new Vaper. You have received a lot of advice and I am pretty sure your head is spinning taking it all in. To summarise: A good place to start is to get an Evod kit from Myepack HEREThis has everything you need to get you going and enough replaceable colis to last a couple of months at least. If you don't have a wall charger with a USB output a good idea is to get another one like THISJuices
JoosJuice - are cheap and a reasonable quality and can be foud HERE HOWEVER anything other than a menthol flavour is fresh mixed and ideally needs a week or 2 to "Steep" (mature) before they are at their best, this is common with some juice manufacturers. LT ECigs - Are also reasonably priced you can find them HEREI'd recommend you get 3 or 4 flavours at first a couple of tobacco and a couple of other flavours (mint/menthol/fruit). At 18mg strength. While you may seem to spend a fair bit when you first start the savings come after you get your kit and provided you're not tempted to try everything out there (a problem for some members on here!) The Evod kit/batteries (other than consumables) should last a year at least. One last thing, where are you? We have regular meet ups all over the country and a hour spent with an experienced Vaper can really help when you first start out. Good luck, and remember the only stupid question s the one you do not ask! Des, I noticed that you've been vaping since 2009. Are you still at it?

So what do you mix 'em in you can get small 10ml needle nose bottles to mix flavours into, probably from where you get e-juice or starter kit. Look in accessories. Or if you've already ordered you can pick them up in a local vape shop for about 50p'ish. Then just mix some flavours you think might taste good together. It is trail and error and depends on what you like. I use a 50% tobacco then add a custard(sweetens and adds vanilla which i love) a fruit (blackberry, raspberry, cherry, blueberry ect) and a small amount of menthol or aniseed(anise) or both/none. I just vary the fruit and menthol/anise to make each mix a bit different.
Looks like I've got my work cut out then!! So you can just experiment with anything until you hit the right taste? Are the flavours strong & do some over power others? Sorry for being a menace but I really am clueless (it's my age I think!!)
