If I do a 5ml sample leave to steep for a week then find it needs another drop would I add it to that mix and have to steep more or make another 5ml with 2 drops ?? What flavours are you mixing with 1 drop crunchynut? 1 drop is between 0.03 and 0.05 of a ml, which is max of 1% in 5ml... most concentrates will be virtually undetectable at that % Also, I'd highly recommend using a 1ml syringe. Different bottle tops deliver different size drops - very difficult to know exactly what you're mixing. I'll be mixing mainly single fruit custards and mixed fruit custards. I was just curious to know if I found one could be better a little sweeter. I haven't mixed yet and was using 1 or 2 drops as an example so my question was understood, I also said drops but I will be using a 1ml syringe. The two main ones I will be mixing are banana custard and blueberry custard but I haven't chosen a recipe yet. |

That's good to hear I was a bit concerned with the sweetener what it would be like. Do you have to use much or very little 1% is a good place to start crunchynut . . . you can always add a little more if your tastes would like. Though too much sweetener will caramelize when heated and gunk your coils up quicker. Make small volumes to begin with, until you get a feel for your concentrates and what suits you. Just been reading out threads and found yours. How did you go on, did you succeed in making one ??? Not finished yet, trying to get the two batteries I have to fit in a box mod with a dna30 board from FT. There are actually 2 2200mah batteries in each MVP, so that will be 8800mah in total, but they are both quite old so wont get as much as that. Was trying to get the dna30 into the mvp case but it`s hard to get the display sorted, so I`ll get a DNA30 case, it looks like it should all fit in there ..................... it`s a work in progress Cool looking at making one myself using the board out of a Vamo v5 Just looking into where's best place for lipo batteries 510 connector and stuff |

Hi all
Just received my mixing kit and will be starting my first mix on Sunday. Ive been doing some reading on here and watching on YouTube and come across a video showing a guy mixing with one of those coffee frothers. He says he's found especially with custards that using a frothers cuts the steeping time right down to 3-4 days. He says you need to let it settle as the frother puts a lot of air in it. I am not a science buff but I take it that it breaks everything up real small making all the ingredients bind together faster bringing steeping time down.
Does anyone use this or a similar method? Please let me know your views .

crunchynut....nope I personally haven't but the blackberry and blueberry look good Love your avatar by the way Hope so, as I wrote never mixed before and I'm going to try to make a blueberry custard or a mixed berry custard. Cheers MarkS for the heads up on UK Flavours. Saturday I'm ordering the silver DIY mixing starter kit from thealchemistscupboard but you only get one concentrate with the silver kit which I'll be getting vanilla custard so I've just placed an order from UK Flavours to try out 4 of their sample size bottles. Think that's a great way to start off as I've never mixed before. I've ordered Blueberry Blackberry French Vanilla Sweetener Have you tried any of these yet? |
