Very true charon but I'm afraid I'm an old stick in the mud and only use kayfuns for the last 18 months or so with 1.4ish coils which is why I don't really need too high watts

Hi all, somethings been on my mind but not sure how to articulate it lol
Which mods or chipsets provide the smoothest vape? I am still in the process of changing my istick 50's for removal battery mods but remembered that the quality of the cake can be affected by the mods output.
The best vape I get is on my Dani mod which I believe outputs a DC signal. I'm not sure what the istick output and then I got totally lost when people staying talking about DNA 30/40 mods.
So please help educate an old tech dinosaur, would a DNA 30/40 output a signal for the smoothest vape? I assume PMW is on the not so smooth end of the scale but obviously does the job and what the hell is a Yihi chip...and does anyone have a clue of what I'm on about?
It's not about high watts for me, any suggestions within a budget price range?

Jane could you possibly take a picture of the coil and wick as it is that is causing dry hits? It may help others see/not see any potential issues

I'm starting to feel in the ancient category these days but a joint journey between me and Mr mac over a number of years took us to where we are today. We started on cigalikes which didn't last too long when I came across this forum. We then moved onto ce2's as well as early bottom and top coil clearomisers. Fortunately things were still developing at a rapid rate back then but we were not ready. After a break, we came back to vaping at the right time where protanks and i clears were taking off. These were big changes in the vaping world and following learning how to rebuild the Kanger series of tanks led me to rebuildables. We settled on kayfuns with 1.4 ish ohm coils around 11 watts and drippers. The devices are isticks. Why? Because the flavour suits our tastes and I generally understand them. We've tried bigger airflow, sub ohming and temperature control but for us, it's just a more or less faff free vape with decent flavour and after a year of running this set up, we are reasonably happy which leaves us to explore juices and diy

Totally in love with kayfun lites after nearly 18 months even though must now think them to right a straw lol love personalizing them as well Definitely not a fan of the subtank, to me it's hot vapour, no flavour and no resistance in the draw. If we all liked the same, the world would be a boring place

Thanks for a the responses guys, I have some more research and thinking to do but for now I am leaning towards getting the Evic even if I wont use all the features. I think the ipv d2 is more or less out the running and I'll look into the hcigar offerings especially the £25 one

To be honest, my mind has changed from the VS for various reasons but I still like the smallness of it lol Dan did indeed slow me the macro, it was tiny but you are very correct, totally out of budget right now. I shall keep a look out but if not just get the Evic, Mr M has taken a shine to it too lol one sec Jon, let me link the dna 30 for your opinion
