Are You wrapping the coil round the mesh or making the coil separately & then dropping it down over the wick?....
.Does it short out if You fit a coil sans mesh?....
Make sure that coil &/or wick don't touch the neg. screw....there ain't hardly a micron of clearance!

glen ..how You getting on wiv the Next-Gen? I've taken My coil & wick off (would've probably dry-burned ok, but the positive wire capture screw was BLACK!...) I don't know if the pin-like positive pin will clean up......it looks about 10 years old!!!! Leaving it soaking in IPA whilst I hit the road over the w/e..... This was meant to be My 'out & about' tank tho'!

I have n't really tried many different drippers:- My 1st ones were a Magma & a Tobh........still use the Maggie when I use Muji but gave the Tobh away as it just did n't compare. Then got an Igo W...not bad but has n't been used since 1. I got an Origen 2 (then a 3!) & 2. I lost the minute allen key for the post screws!!
Latest was the Velocity, 'cos the posts looked perfect for vertical ribbon coils, but underwhelmed wiv it....the Origens have spoilt Me!!

Hate El Toro............it just tells Me how far I've got to go wiv My home-brew efforts!!
I'm no expert on building the Next-Gen either...I'm still on the coil/wick that I put in it when I got it, several weeks ago....fluked it!!! Used just enough mesh to go round the pos. post & then slipped a 2mm, 1ohm, 26 gauge kanthal coil over it. Think 'tiny' when You build it as there's no room at all 'twixt the wick & the neg. post....& the screw's minute too!!

1st-ly, apologies that any thread I start seems to be related to mesh wicks!!.....
Anyone tried it tho'?...can't see why it would n't work (tho' you'd prob. be squeezing that bottle more often than wiv cotton....)
Just that I've been thinking 'bout getting a cheap squonker for out & about as tanks are becoming a pain......& 'dripping & driving' will prob. get Me nicked!!!!!!

In the 14 months since I became a Vapist, I've gone 36mg...24...18 & now mixing at 12.....reckon I'll be stuck here for a while tho'!!
I would like to get lower if I can.....1 advantage wiv vaping liquid made from baccy leaf is that if I mixed at 0mg.....I'd still have a tiny trace of nico! (0.6-ish?..)
