Ah, gin = mother's ruin! That's the trouble with a bottle of spirits, isn't it!? Is it just me, or can I dimly remember that the equivalent price of a bottle spirits in the good ol' days was so high as to be prohibitive as a daily/weekly drink, whereas nowadays it's cheaper to buy a bottle of vodka than go out to the pub for four pints and a bag of crisps? Daft, but very pleasant, all the same  But I mourn those days with the pub as a centre of social cohesion, when a working man could enjoy a few pints and was not owned and defined by his job. Now I need the gin because i don't recognise the world outside my door and despair that we have lost precious freedoms that were hard won by working people. |

Sorry real world interrupted. So just to be clear for any sane person reading this. Can we reach a consensus? All nickel wire will work but as the chip is mapped for ni200 it may be out by a few degrees with other ni wires. Fair enough? Ripshod - Thanks for being a good sport  |

Just to be clear - you are using in ni200 nickel wire not pure nickel? Evolv chip calibrated for ni200 only not nil res nickel. My VaporShark rDNA 40 works well with this. Ni200 is just a spec that says > 99.2 % pure nickel, pure nickel is fine for DNA40.Nickel 200/201 is most widely used grade, generally specified for transistor caps, anodes for electronic tubes, leads of electronic components / Lead-in-Wires for lamps and for Wire-Mesh. Also used in strip form for various applications including Ni-Cd batteries. Yes I know. However the Evolv data sheet for the board states nickel 200 (commercially pure nickel) must be used. In correspondence with them they stated that pure nickel wire has a different resistivity/temperature curve and so is not compatible. |
