Ok so needed to put a new coil on my Lemo Drop today so thought i would give the nickel a proper try. Did my build at 0.16ohm juiced her up and stuck her on my DNA40. Here's where i think i may be facing a problem.
I set the temp limit at 410f and fired her up at 20 watts, she's vaping like a champ but i noticed that when i'm firing it the temp readout stays on a steady 110f doesn't jump up or down and the watts readout only fluctuates by maybe 0.2-0.3 watts, also there's no temp protection message coming up even if i turn it up to the full 40watts and fire it without even drawing on it.
From everything i've seen this is not normal behaviour for this chip.
Any ideas?

That doesn't sound right at all Get Off My Cloud, I must admit my Vs dna40 hasn't been used in temp control much. I tried it and it seemed quite inconsistent although others rate them highly. When it did work as expected it didn't perform any better than any of my other devices so to be fair to it I never followed up with it in temp mode and spent the time on builds it probably deserves to do it justice. I'm sure some of he guys lovingt he temp control will be along with some ideas

Thats not right at all the temp should start off low and then build up to what you have set until the coil starts to overheat and then the temp control should cut in. It could be nothing more than a chip reset needed. Try taking the battery out and leaving it for 30 mins so everything cools down to room temp.

Like i said it was vaping fine just the readout was acting as i described so i was vaping on it for about 10 minutes and then it wouldn't fire at all and all that would come up was the temp control message. Weird i thought so i took that ati off turned off the temp sensing and put one with a regular kanthal build on it. Working fine with that. Took some draws on nickel build at while it was off the box to help cool it down figured that might help, put it back on the box turned the temp control on again. When i fire it now the screen shows voltage like it would with a kanthal build not temp in F. It still vapes with the nickel build so i don't know what is going on.

Is it a DNA40 or a clone, sounds very wrong.

Ironically i had one of their VS DNA40 clones on order too but the delivery was put back twice and their stated reason was the run the supplier did had problems with the temp sensing and the screen scrambling, that was a couple of days ago so i asked them to send me another HANA instead, hope that one will be ok. It was working great in regular mode just went tits up today when i tried out temp sensing.

Just to be clear - you are using in ni200 nickel wire not pure nickel? Evolv chip calibrated for ni200 only not nil res nickel. My VaporShark rDNA 40 works well with this.
