To all those who think the TPD won't affect them, to all those think they'll be alright anyway, to all those who think "they won't do it will they", to all those who've stocked up their freezers with nicotine to last 5 years... Please read and think... www.dropbox.com/s/d2xdhzyilrpadby/Nothing.pdf?dl=0This image has been produced for sharing via vape shops. The link will allow you to print a high quality version to take to your local vape shop to help educate people on what the TPD really means for them.

Call to Action 2.3.15 (Bumper Easter Special) We normally pick 3 - sometimes it's hard to whittle it down, sometimes we struggle to find three specific and topical things to suggest (that's quite rare though!). In honour of the double bank holiday and all that free time, we are presenting 5 actions this week. As ever, some are quick and easy, some take a bit of thought and effort. So, without further ado ... You can help promote vaping this week by: 1) Signing this short but sweet petition to the EU: goo.gl/V3YhlX 2) Take the ECF Big Survey – it's surveys like this that give advocates ammunition in the fight against the ANTZ. The more people answer, the more powerful that ammunition is! It is a big survey (took me about 10 mins – the clue's in the title) but there is a prize draw! www.surveymonkey.com/s/ECF2015a3) Start thinking about attending and promoting this demo on 29th May 2015 – there's a Facebook page in the link, join it. Its only if actions like this actually happen that the TPD will be reconsidered (barring a TW win of course). link4) This one speaks for itself: goo.gl/hzM6xC but it might lead to more of this - kickerdaily.com/tobacco-free-ca-poster-on-e-cigarettes-backfires/5) Complain to the GMC about Dr George Rae (his GMC registration number is 1327616). He featured on a radio show saying that ecigs were worse than smoking, specifically citing the presence of nitrosamines in ecigs as more likely to cause cancer than the tar from cigarettes. Actually listening to him is probably riskier than smoking a fag, so here's a transcript: goo.gl/trHmIS Here's something from Dr Farsalinos to back up your complaint (its easy to find others): www.ecigarette-research.com/web/index.php/2013-04-07-09-50-07/120-e-cigs-nitrosamines. Here's some specific research about the levels of nitrosamines in ecigs (Table 2 is the biggie): goo.gl/c2W5n8 This action takes the most effort, but calling out individuals like this is the steady chipping away at the mountain of ignorance that just has to be done if vaping is to prevail. You can complain (it lets you save and return) here: www.gmc-uk.org/concerns/making_a_complaint/23365.asp?WT.ac=MCSC140122.

The vapers of the UK climbed mountains in helping us raise the £3000 we need to fund our two candidates to face the General Election. We can now pay for deposits and leaflets. You can still help us to make a bigger impact though. For us the crowdfunding was a huge effort but now the mammoth task of making all your contributions count starts in earnest. We're on the campaign trail voters & vapers! The public face is to gain votes but the main aim is to get our vital message out there. No matter how much biased, ill thought nonsense is thrown at us we WILL get the truth out to the British public. "There is nothing to fear from e-cigs but everything to gain" is our message. Britain and the world are better for the existence of vaping, we all benefit, and we will shout that message as LOUD as we can. If you are a voter in the constituencies of Kingswood (Bristol) or Barnsley East (South Yorkshire) you can help us at ground level. Wherever you are you can follow us on Twitter or Facebook and share our messages with your contacts. Everyone can play a part if they're willing. Funds are still gratefully received too - we have the basics but everything you donate via our website www.vapersinpower.co.uk will help us publicise our message further. This is a fight people! We're on the frontlines but everyone who contributes makes a difference. When the battle is won, everyone who has done their part, no matter how big or small, will have helped make this country a better place for every smoker, every vaper and everyone who knows them.

We've only gone and done it!!! It's official folks! Thanks to the amazing support of vapers across the forums and beyond Vapers In Power have finally reached the £3000 target to put forward TWO candidates in the election. Everything's been done by volunteers and on a shoestring budget but thanks to all you people digging into your pockets we'll be there on the hustings being heard! Kinda cool on a day when the ANTZ have tried their hardest to put us down, we can come back fighting with such great news! Charge your glasses and your 18650s and celebrate with us!

Only £490 left to raise to hit the target to put TWO candidates up for election and do the job properly.
That's 98 people at £5 each.
Who wants a piece of the action?

In case you haven't noticed yet Vapers in Power are in the final few days of their crowdfunding campaign to get together the necessary to fund two candidates in the General Election. The funding deadline is the early hours of Wednesday morning. It has been a pretty successful day with an additional £85 added to the coffers. The total now stands at £1872The candidates WILL be standing, but every pound makes a difference to how much noise they will be able to make. Each candidate obviously has the deposit to pay, but this gives them FREE postage to nearly 140,000 households that means there are printing costs for 140,000 leaflets, they get FREE meeting halls, but it isn't much use if they can't afford to light and heat them. The aim is to raise £3000. Often with the campaigns that take place it feels a little like we are stuck in an echo chamber only reaching the few people that have an active interest in the subject and failing to penetrate the psyche of the vast majority who instead get their news from the scaremongering stories in the tabloid press. This is an opportunity to break out of the bubble, and gain genuine mass publicity for vaping and the issues of Article 20 of the Tobacco Products Directive which comes into law in May 2016. The wording of the TPD leaves options open to the governments that are signed to it. We need to make it clear that those options need to be exercised in a way that benefits the health of the population and preserves the right of choice. The right of nicotine users to choose to vape. /x/8997189
