So, I got some vapemail today that I don't remember ordering, and it turns out to be the Joyetech Delta 2, but with the added puzzle that I also (apparently) bought a pack of 5 Aspire Atlantis coils. (BVC 0.5)
I've been having a look at some vids, and it seems like a very good tank, but obviously I can't really form an opinion until firing it up, so that's just what I did.
It's great, it's awesome, it will replace my kanger subtank I suspect, especially if I also buy the RBA deck. It runs really well at lower wattage, and medium wattage and yes higher wattage as well. (low for me in this case is about 15-17 w, medium around the mid 20's and high up around 40w) There is an issue with coils burning out if you just crank it up straight away, but start with a low wattage, then go up to the usual wattage in half or one watt increments and do half a dozen or so pulls at each setting until you get up to the desired power. This seems to be a bit of a thing now, with the Nautilus coils also needing this kind of TLC, but hey, if it makes the coils last longer I really don't mind.
Now comes the part that makes me sound stupid - can I use the Atlantis coils in the Delta 2? I have no idea, and any help would be greatly appreciated before I send them back, and put a drunk lock on my PC.

Wooties #21 custard, quite simply the best custard I have vaped (60ml, also on sale cost £24) Can you give me a link to where you purchased the Wooties custard ? Got it from here, but it was on vapefest promo at the time www.vapor-z.co.uk/

Also, instead of making a new thread, has anyone tried the Youde Zephyrus subohm tank? I hear they've now solved their leakage problem (apparently it only happened on the first production run), and I like a bit of subohming, especially when it's beer night I have. I like it a lot. It isn't as good on flavour as a tiny dripper but is good. It's a thirsty brute though. Thanks for the info. Most subohm atties are pretty thirsty aren't they? Even on my subtank I get through a full tank pretty much in one evenings vaping. I might give the Zephyrus a go at some point if the stock coils turn out to be as good as they say

Came into a bit of money (not much, a couple of hundred or so) and decided to stock up a bit and buy a couple of things I've been after for a while with this unexpected bounty. Vamo v7, plus spare batteries came today (bought purely for aesthetics, and as a going out mod) Solara DNA40, bargain at £65 Eleaf Istick 50w, a spare Nautilus Nautilus mini, plus stock coils for both Wooties #21 custard, quite simply the best custard I have vaped (60ml, also on sale cost £24) Silicon sleeve for istick I'm debating whether or not to buy the patterned metal and glass tanks for both nautilus, just because they look so damn good on the vamo with them on. Also, instead of making a new thread, has anyone tried the Youde Zephyrus subohm tank? I hear they've now solved their leakage problem (apparently it only happened on the first production run), and I like a bit of subohming, especially when it's beer night

On what mod? Some of them won't fire below 3.7 volts, like the Cloupor mini. So you're actually vaping at a higher wattage. The istick 50w The range for the 0.5 OCC is supposed to be 15w to 30w, but it has been working fine at 11.5w

One persons warm is another's hot, that's part of the point of being able to adjust. The battery power is converted to heat via the resistance of the heating coil. More Power equals more heat, if it's too hot for you, can I suggest turning it down a bit. Well, I've had it on the lowest setting wattage for the 0.5 ohm coil and it was still too hot. A narrower drip tip and more airflow has cooled it down enough so that it's OK.

Got the drip tip off an old protank, and it's MUCH better.
Now I have to go drip tip shopping for small bore ones lol but they seem to be a bit hard to find for cheap ish ones.

Hi Get Off My Cloud I never gave the size a thought. The biggest mod I have atm is the M65 ! Yes that would look stupid !. I heard the minis leak so crossed them off the list, has this been sorted out now?. I put the sub tank plus on as I thought with the size it would be a cooler vape. Thanks mate The mini leak has indeed been fixed now. I'm having other issues with it, but no leaks on mine. My brother and a chap he works with also bought the subtank mini and no leaks reported there either.

Pro tank 2 with an airflow adapter and a micro coil is good combo imo. I still use this combo despite having a KF4 and now a subtank. It might be because it was my first buy and departure from the standard clearo's that came with my first buy the itaste VV 3.0, but I really like the way it vapes, and it's handy for taking out with no worries about expense if it gets knocked around a bit (I take good care of my things, but accidents happen).

Never had a problem with it getting hot myself but you are the second person this week say there's was getting hot. A chap where my brother works bought one as well, and he is saying the same thing. So that's 3 of us now with the same issue. Odd, but perhaps a narrower drip tip is a good work around for now.

I've got to say you're doing very well to run an OCC head at 50 watts. Not running it at 50 W lol The instructions have a range of wattages that it runs on (allegedly), and I took it up around the 40W mark in the interests of testing. Lots of vape, but got very hot.

Do you have it on the smallest air hole? I'm a newbie having just converted to a box mod 24hrs ago and I've got one of these tanks. I have found that after a few mouthfuls (I'm a mouth to lung vaper) the tip gets hot, but if I open the air hole up it's a lot cooler. Although I prefer the smallest hole setting as I have a bit of resistance (like a ciggie) Tried it on all airhole settings with little difference. Like you I prefer a bit of "draw" (as does the brother) but I tried all the settings. I'm wondering if it settles down a bit once the coil has "bedded in", although to be fair I don't know if the subtank needs this in the same way a protank coil does. What I mean is that on the protank, I find that a new coil takes a bit of time before it settles on a sweet spot, and new coils are a bit variable in how they vape first off.

My brother and I both bought one of these, and we are both running it on istick 50w. I'm using the 0.5 ohm OCC coil, and he is using the 1.2 ohm OCC coil. We're both using snake oil with a squirt of Druide. The idea was to run the different coils, and the same juice then note differences. We are both finding that the subtank runs very hot at pretty much every wattage in it's range. Is this normal? Is there any way we can get it to run cooler? Thanks
