Hello, I'm sort of out of the Vaping world atm, I know what I like and I like what I know, which is fine until somebody asks you for advice! My mum has decided she wants to stop smoking and start vaping and has asked me to help her buy her gear. She doesn't want anything bigger than an ego sized battery. So my question is, are egos still the most reliable of that type, which atomizer would you recommend to go with it? I was thinking an evod? And where is the best place for reliability and a good price? Thanks xxx My friend got ego, She did not stick at it. Then months later she got istick with protank and she loves it. Don't know if that will help you

We all talk about the evils of the Big T cigalikes, BUT how many of you started on a cigalike? I remember buying my Skycig pack and thinking it was quite dinky at the time. We all now know how poor they are compared to "proper" vaping kit, but I suspect that they are the gateway into vaping for many smokers looking to quit. Sure I saw some US statistics suggesting that 44% of all Ecig sales in the US were cigalikes, and to be honest it wouldn't surprise me to see a similar percentage for the UK. So whilst I'm sure we'd all agree that they are crap compared to a good dripper on a TC mod, many existing smokers wouldn't be able to make that leap straight away. So IMHO I think they have a place as a stepping stone. Our many vaping reviewers should be looking at them and passing comment, they should be criticized, their flavours should be improved, and with some improvement they might be useful as a starter. I was using cigalikes now and again for a year or so but only as a means to have a nicotine fix where I couldn't smoke so a few quick puffs in the loo or an out of the way corner and I was good to go for an hour or so, but thats ALL I ever used them for, prior to cigalikes I used a nicorette inhaler for the same purpose, neither one of them in any way helped me to reduce let alone quit smoking so as a gateway to quitting they didn't really work for me, same as the patches I only bought to use if I was flying somewhere. Compare that to my first "next gen" kit of a bog standard ego with a smok clearomiser and some hangsen e-liquid and within 24 hours of purchase I had reduced from around 40 a day to barely 5 or 6 within 2 or 3 days I had given up the stinkies completely and haven't touched one since. It will very much depend on what kind of cigalike device they may decide to "prescribe" if its anything like the 10 Motives that I used then it may not be as successful as it could be if people are given the right information and a choice of devices etc. As you said Snow , patches and cigalikes, don't do the trick. for everyone. It takes time and help to get on the right track, to help.

Lets just hope that they are only interested in the cigalike market MRS SLEEPY, but who knows, try not to get too concerned about it yet, we have enough to worry about with the tpd We will have to keep fingers crossed.

Think today was a minor victory for vapers, just by having some positive comments about e cigs MRS SLEEPYBut the ultimate objective in my opinion is for everything to become regulated, which would be a disaster, and would drive what we call vaping underground Yes but it looks like it may go that way. Just hope it don't . Been vaping 4 years now don't want it to go that way

Cigalike's not bad for starter. BUT when a heavy smoker not that good. cost to much. Even if doc prescribe it to much to pay ,to keep off the fags.

Yes I agree . But it puts a few more worry's on us. Don't you agree? The harm will come if it is decided that all vaping equipment requires a pharmaceutical licence, if a product was introduced to be used exclusively by gps as a smoking cessation aid alongside gum and patches it would be preferable to everything vape related being put under the same banner, but time will tell if this is the case, Yes but all the good things that has helped us. Could go from us too. Its a good side to say its 95% safer . But things are on the thin blue line at this moment.
