I started on e-cigs 17 days ago and I'm analogue free for 16 days and counting.
I'm so pleased with myself.
If your new to e-cigs like myself, you might want to read this post and hopefully avoid some of the mistakes I made.
Before making the decision to switch to e-cigs, I did a little research (not enough by the way) and decided to opt for the VIP e-cig Guardian Offer (
Menthol16mg).
During the first day of trying the e-cig, I got terrible headaches.
I think it was from getting more nicotine in my system than I was used to, BUT once the headaches passed, I was a convert.
So, I promptly ordered an extra battery, a carry case and more cartomizers. This time tho, I ordered a 10 pack of
menthol 11mg cartomizers, thinking the 16mg was too strong.
I also did some online research on how to refill the cartomizers.
This seemed simple enough, so I ordered a
30ml bottle of e-juice 11mg. which I now am going off the taste.
On receiving the new cartomizers and e-juice all at a strength of
11mg, I quicky realized that I had made my first mistake.
Because the
11 mg was not strong enough for me to get a throat hit, I was tooting away on my e-cig way too much. The two batteries I had purchased were not coping with my demands and I was constantly looking for a power source in order to charge the batteries up.
To counter this problem, I promptly order some more e-juice, but this time at a strength of
24mg and an empty bottle.
My plan was to mix both e-juices together and come out with an e-juice with approx
19 mg strength, which does seem to be working, but again, I'm going off the taste fast.
This is about when I discovered this forum.
I was looking for more info on e-cigs with better battery life and came across this forum.
After reading some of the posts and discovering how helpful people on this forum are, I quickly joined.
And after a few questions from myself and some words of wisdom from other members, I ordered a riva 1100 deluxe, some cartomizers, a drip tip and a pick n mix from vape escape. I also ordered an adaptor from liberty flights, so that I can still use the cartomizers from my original purchases.
Some of my mistakes were:
Buying the VIP e-cig,
the wrong strength cartomizers,
the wrong strength and flavour of e-juice,
the extra batteries,
the case,
the 30ml e-juice instead of 5 or 10ml,
Not finding and joining this forum earlier,
Not ordering the Riva 1100 deluxe initially.
However, I don't regret one thing. I may have spent a little bit more than I really wanted to (which is still less than I would have spent on real cigarettes), but in the process.
I have learned a great deal about e-cigs,
found this forum,
been introduced to some wonderfull people,
found out about which websites to use,
discount codes.
But most of all, I have stopped smoking
and I'm actually really enjoying e-cigs.
I hope this post might help anyone looking to make the change.
And thanks to everyone who has helped me get to where I am.
