As a perfect way to utilise my 50TH POST i'd like to again extend my sincere thanks for all the advice and welcome you lovely people have been giving me. Its great to see such a friendly and social forum, which is in most cases helping people to improve their health ( from moving away from cigarettes )
Expect plenty more dumb-ass questions in the future as i hone my skills, and hope to one day be in a position to be able to advise others.
Incidentally, I have spent far more money on this over the last couple of weeks than i expected, which i attribute directly to you guys. so if you want to PM me i will send you my paypal details and you can all give me some money.
thanks again! James

Mr Ignoramus here again..what is 'the kick" also, how easy to re do the carts with replacing the innards...is is really cost effective? The kick is an add on device that regulates the wattage output of an e-cig, typically for a mechanical big battery e-cig. You set the wattage and whatever resistance carto or atomiser you attach it will run at that wattage. If you know a bit about electricity if you change resistance you change the wattage, the Kick works out what it needs to output to keep the wattage the same. Most variable voltage ecigs like the Lavatube regulate the Voltage and the wattage changes dependent on the resistance of the carto/atty and you have to manually change the voltage to get the same vaping experience on different carto/attys. I'm not sure what you mean about changing the innards of a carto? If you mean the Stardust then yes it is worth re-wicking as it costs pennies to rewick/coil rather than pay £5 for a new one. Thanks for the explanation... sounds like i should be happy sticking with the riva for a while before trying to get anything as serious sounding as that.... may well return to that when curiosity sets in. surely its only £5 for a box of 5 carto's anyway? confused by what you mean about £5 for a new one... any link to a thread on how to re-wick? Cheers Des

starting to look into the caramel options from the dealers now.... problem with ordering samplers is the P&P doubles the cost. Incidentally, i seem to be going back to Gold & Silver all the time at the moment for some reason, really seems to be hitting the spot during the daytime.. however, with a glass of red ( at the moment at least ) i am using the HS Storm as i like a plain strong tobacco-ey flavour, any suggestions on that front for a good traditional smoke and glass ( read bottle ) of nice red? lickily i have 30mg of both arriving today as i have caned pretty much both of them already

Hi, I'm a noob too... gave up smoking for 6 years. then again for 18 months ( only started again as a result of test driving different cubans ( not heels ) for my wedding )... Last cig was new years eve and still going strong.
I think i realised that to give up smoking you can't do it just because 'it costs too much', or 'i don't want to get some horrible illness'... you really have to WANT to give up, simple as that, and thats what i think is the real motivator.
Having said that, I am loving this new hobby, you get the nicotine, the tactile experience of smoking and exhaling the smoke and it means you still have that 'first thing to have in the morning', or 'just after a meal' or even 'during having a drink'...
but discovering new flavour combinations has rapidly become such a joy for me.. I have honestly not looked back.
I truly hope you succeed in cutting out the cigarettes, whether this is the route you take or not, i think it is certainly worth trying and persevering with... there are so many helpful people on this forum who'll answer any questions you have.
Best of luck to you.

well, just put in another order for a few more different flavours ( promised myself this is the last time until next payday ), so the experimenting continues..... what makes it so difficult is that i am really finding that something i don't particularly care for on first taste suddenly tastes much better next time i try it..... my project this evening is to devise a method of ensuring i don't get all the carto/e-liquids mixed up and end up not being sure whether i am vaping what i think it am at any given time... especially with another big bag coming in the post... maybe one of those big DIY fixture management cases might be in order

Again, probably either very obvious, or this info available elsewhere on forum but any thoughts greatly appreciated...
firstly, the thing i hate most already is when you get that first 'duff' drag when the liquid has run out... is it best to keep adding a couple of drops every hour or so to stop it getting to the drying out point, does that prolong the life of the carto? does the flavour suffer if it totally dries out and then is refilled?
Also, if you leave the cart overnight in the cig ( for potential easy access first thing in the morning ) should i remove the drip tip and replace it with the condom cap to stop it drying out over night?
And finally, but unrelated really, should i be cleaning the metal contacts of both the battery and the cart regularly? if so, any tips on how regularly, or what to use?
Thanks agin... James

i hear a lot of good things about 'black cat', but the liquorice thing worries me... not being a fan of the stuff I guess it makes no sense for me to try it. i.e i cannot eat a meal if it has even the slightest amount of the herb mint in it.. (FYI i do know that mint and herb are not the same thing )

ok. pretty obvious i am new to this, and probably multiple threads on this already but, excluding exotic flavourings, and looking at a mid-strength liquid, what are people's favourite 'daily' smoke?
is there a shortlist of real good quality e-liquids that people tend to use as their 'basic' everyday smoke. as i have already noticed, it really depends on situation, environment etc as to what you might use, but what does everyone go back to as their regular/basic smoke to buy in big pots and have handy at all times???
cheers James

interestingly, i went into a pub using the G&S and got a couple of adverse comments from customers about the smell. switched over to the winson, which i think has a more traditionally tobacco smell, and everyone seemed ok.. go figure?
