Sorry - meant optimum button positioning was highly dependent on the dimensions of the box

Sorry - meant optimum button positioning was highly dependent on the dimensions of the boxThat's the way I took it and I quite agree Ref spiky buttons - that's what I mean with the GD-PT. The first one was even spikier, then Garry seemed to add a little cap on it but it's still uncomfortable. Depending on the dimensions of the ones Sean and Lisa have discovered, maybe they're not suitable to go on a tube-shaped mod with a smallish diameter ??? scylla

No, those buttons would be no good on a tube mod as their footprint is simply too large. Both types require a 1/2 inch (12.7mm) mounting hole. Sean

Love the look of both those buttons, black would be perfect too. Daft question from me . . . if these far more user friendly buttons are readily available and work , why do some modders insist on using weeny, little spiky things . . . is it a cost thing? LOL my thoughts excactly , ive read some well established modders state its because of "cost" but that just doesnt make sense to me ? with those low profile buttons if you buy 25 there 27p each !!! now thats not alot to add to lets say £14.99 is it , ive got a gd boxmod v1 and hate the button , and its the only negative thing ive ever read that other peeps state about the boxmods , now 27p to make all good and 100% happy , doesnt seem to be alot does it but what do i know !!! I'm completely of the same opinion as you Mrl & Scylla . . . personally I'd happily pay a bit more for a box mod with a decent activation button . . . it's why I don't have any in my little ecig collection . . . I get the dimensions thing with a tube shaped device, but surely on a rectangular/flat surface it's doable? BTW Sean, there's a chap on UKV selling box mods really cheaply if you wanted one to dissect for research purposes.

If you have seen the GD tankbox then he has used the larger buttons, he was asked about them and this is what he said...........
Working on getting them at the right price mate. I've had them for ages but to hit my production price it put the box way beyond worth making If I get the deal I want these switches will be on all the box mods.
Trying to keep the same end user price and not kill myself in the process, lol

Mark, I've already got torches enroute from Hong Kong but while I'm waiting, it just seems sensible to cut my teeth with something like a box mod as they're definately easier to get inside and mess around with. Perpy, thanks, I've seen his post and PM'd him about one of each. To be honest, if they are any good then that may well put me off making them as I can't see how he's making it worthwhile at those prices! I have no desire to make huge profits but it has to be worth it otherwise my stitching will always take priority. Sean

I guess I'm at the stage now with the ecigs I've got that I'm after something a bit different, hence the quest for a box mod Camper, I've enough tubular shaped devices and none of the new ones coming out are any better than I've already got.
Trouble is Sean, people sell their items down, crazy prices that chap is offering. . . GD's the same Lisa, assuming people won't be prepared to pay a bit more for a mod that's got a more user friendly button. . . look at how the Reo has stormed out . . . hobby vapers are happy to pay good money for a good quality device. that delivers.
Up market is the way to go in my mind - stand out from the pack.

Up market is the way to go in my mind - stand out from the pack. have you held or seen a reo in the flesh yet perp ? it is by far the best mod i have BUT is it really worth shelling out that much money (around £100 english pounds) i will leave that to you to decide as i got mine at a steal of a price but i am a little bitter the guy who sold me it had 2 but wouldnt sell them both as he wanted to keep one as he said it was his go to mod and it will never leave his side so i asked him if he ever decides to sell it to get back in touch with me which he promised to do but guess what a week later he sold it on TWs forum for the paltry sum of $67 and for those of you that cant be bothered checking in pounds thats £41 > id pay that sort of money all day long, have you owned a GGTS yet perp ? its probobly the only other mod apart from a provari that im seeking to own at some point but are they all really worth paying that sort of cash for ? i have this on my siggy on another forum "you only ever rent a mod as somewhere along the line you will pass it on" how true is that ? were all wanting the next best thing just to add perp have you noticed on most of the US forums the difference in their second hand market/classifieds prices ? they tend to sell at not much less then retail compared to us brits who seem to let stuff go for next to nowt

Honestly Camper . . . no I wouldn't shell out a $134 for a Reo . . . £40odd quid yes . . . why I wouldn't is because no matter how well the Reo works, it doesn't live up to my expections of how a mod of that price should look . . . the magnetic 'door', the shape ( I'd like a box mod with rounded edges ) colour finishes. I would happily pay £100 for a box mod that looked good and did the job, which is why I'm gently nagging Imeo to make a GG version, I've a GGTS & 2 GGTB's . . . can't beat them for quality of design & finish, plus they work blummin well. I know exactly what I want, when it's available, I'll buy it and then stop . . . which I have done with tubular shapes . . . gadetry as such doesn't interest me, I do like things of quality and beauty however. Yeah, seen the prices on ECF for 2nd hand gear and then look at UKV . . . can't believe the giveaway prices. Good for you Sean, and you absolutely must make some mods yourself.
