With a multimeter www.amazon.co.uk/Digital-Multimeter-Tester-Multi-Meter-MultiTester/dp/B004HSSJXG/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1356869508&sr=8-7You can switch the dial to test the ohms (the resistance of your coil) the power (of a battery, say) and/or the continuity of an electrical circuit. I have a couple, including the cheap one (but not from Amazon) and you plug the leads into the meter and touch the prongs to the positive and negative "bits" of your atomizer. With a rebuildable it's easy, as there are two "posts" you attach either end of your wire to. On a replaceable head (mini nova, CE5 etc.) it's easier just to touch the outer metal casing with one prong and sit the other one in the central hole.... Basically, by winding a wire around a wick, you are making an electrical circuit (when attached to a battery) which the meter will check. If there's no continuity, you have a problem (which could destroy an unprotected type of battery if you "fire it up" = dead RIVA) and to test the ohms you don't need the battery attached as long as your meter has it's own little battery inbuilt.

Yep a mod is usually needed especially for a Aga t, its going to look huge on an ego battery. Also vv/vw helps get better performance out of these devices and makes it easier for coiling as you can turn down the power at first.
One of the inexpenisve drippers is a good idea, although its different to working with a genesis. If you do go for a genesis again I recommend the Aga-S its definitely easier than the T or W to work with as the positive post is closer to the wick, making it easier to coil.
As for oxidising I've yet to find one clear way that everyone agrees on, but pretty much its putting the mesh on a flame yeah. You can do it with a lighter. Many use a chefs torch, I have used the hob sometimes. Theres faff involved in gennies, you need to know before you get one. If your one of the lucky ones you'll get it working straight away, but be prepared to spend some time. I've mostly had success with these but say with the Aga-W I've struggled terribly to get it to work right.
I probably wouldn't go for the one you linked in the first post, the did clone. I hear they are awkward to work with. Also there chrome plated and when the chrome wears off you'll have to throw it away, better to buy an all SS atty.

Right.
May be worth getting some stuff and messing about rewicking a nova head as i've got three mini Nova's.
That way I can see if I'm actually any good at it and I've lost next to nothing if I mess up.
Seem like a plan?

An Aga T is going to be massively unbalanced on an Ego battery Jerri hi there ive been watching this thread as i too would like to get into rebuilables but i only have vision spinner batteries. One is a 1300 mah and the other 1100 mah do u think most rebuildables would be too big for these batteries

I went for the IGO-L as it seemed to be one of the easier ones to rebuild. Have just done my first wick and coil and it actually works! Worked almost too well, had a bit of a coughing fit after the first drag ![;D](//storage.proboards.com/2973975/images/uKg77DgrQpkBFJJN7U0P.gif) Dropped the watts a bit and all is good now. It is a bit fiddly, but tbh if I can do it, anyone can. Edited to add - only good if you're after a dripping atty ofc I agree with this post. I have been living with my iGo now for a few days and it's great. I'm not convinced it's for me, long-term, but it's simple, easy and effective.

* Crossed posts with Djs. ![;D](//storage.proboards.com/2973975/images/uKg77DgrQpkBFJJN7U0P.gif) * Not to worry. I was surprised how "wide" the iGo-L is. It wouldn't make sense on a regular battery. Sat on top a mini LT it looks about right.
