Blimey . . . I don't analyze anything that deeply Digi. Too busy enjoying all me lovely flavours and plotting the next retail therapy campaign.

Never actually had to analyse it - just sort of knew Then i mentioned the SotV in a few UKV reviews - and someone asked me what i actually meant - hence the article Bit like anything that thee just know - it's simple and goes without having to think about it at all - until thee have to explain it to someone else! LoL

I think this is a good attempt to capture more than just TH and VP (and flavour). And I think you're right to say that these 3 descriptors are jointly inadequate to fully describe the qualities of a particular vapour. When I first started vaping, what I was really looking for was something that would replace the sensation of inhaling smoke from a cigarette. I saw that vapers talked about TH, but I wasn't necessarily concerned about feeling a hit on the back of my throat. I was more interested in (what I can only describe as) the feeling of inhaling something substantial into my lungs. (Maybe "lung presence", rather than "throat hit"?). I'm not sure whether this is captured by the terminology introduced by this article, but I still think it's a good step in the direction of a more comprehensive vocabulary of vaping.

I understand where you are coming from. For me with TH on a scale of 0-10 with 10 being as hot as the sun I like 1-2 at the very most, but I like lung (hit, Presence?) more, I want to feel it fill my lungs. Also vapour, I agree it's more than the amount of vapour. Egg custard tart is my benchmark, thick, moist vapour that blinds you for a few seconds and almost sticks to your lips, when I try and talk with a lung full of ECT my voice drops where my voicebox is trying to cope with the wet vapour Absolute bliss! God I wish I had brought my Nova with ECT in... I miss it so much

I never really got the idea of having lots of different Flavours on the go - but different 'Shapes' i can understand - they all have a range of convenience
If i'm pondering something - as i am wont to do - i definitely prefer a long slow soft, slightly tight draw - for instance, whilst if i'm being active and getting stuff done, then a fiercer, more direct looser draw is what i'm looking for
So level and type of activity can change the Shape of the Vape that i'm after - how about thee?

Thinking about the above - tis probably why I like the eVod when being out and about and prefer me Ivy on a mech mod when sat down at home The eVod is a quick fix, good VP and flavour, but an ickle thin - but perfect when being active and not having to worry about abusive treatment The Ivy, on the other hand benefits from more gentle treatment, and on a mech mod gives me a great, Billowy, Long Slow Draw of a Vape - a much more ponderous and calming experience

Ooh - made some DIY M+P's Pchela's Famous Five Layers from their Concentrated Flavo(u)rs range - at 10%, 70/30 VG/PG - and WoW - What an Awesome Shape to the Vape! :surprised: As i don't dilute me Boots VG - the Vape is so dense thee can almost chew it and the Pchela's F5L's combination of Flavours come across beautifully in the Maga form C9 - not bad in an eVod either Not usually a confectionary Vaper - but swiftly mixed the rest so have 90ml + Steeping

Thought i'd update this with a couple of things i've noticed recently. When it comes to the usual Flavour, Vapour Production and Throathit criteria - there isn't much difference between the Kayfun Lite and the Anyvape Davide - a bit but not a lot. When talking in terms of Shape of the Vape - that's when the differences become apparent. The Davide is a cooler vape (tho warmer than the Evod) and doesn't have the depth of 'Texture' and softness, that the Kayfun delivers - even with 70/30 PG/VG. That Vape Density from the Kayfun, also caries with it, to me, extra elements of flavour, that get integrated into the Vaping Experience as a whole - making the Kayfun feel like a more complete and luxurious experience. If thee haven't experienced this, then the Davide for instance, is one of the best mass produced misers around at the moment - and even if thee have an acceptable and cheap back-up

digicig, really enjoyed your piece. Although it is all very new to me at the moment I do look forward to experiencing the experience you describe. I love the name too, The Shape Of Vape, I think it's just beautiful really.

Everyone is looking for their own ideal 'SotV' - consciously on unconsciously - and that might change according to the time of day, situation or mood. The Evods, Davide's etc - are simple and effective delivery systems that deliver a fiercer, flavoursome vape - that scratches the itch and gives a little, but not much more For a more leisurely and ponderous Vaping experience i much prefer a good genesis set up or the Kayfun - where i can more fully immerse myself in the Vaping and want a more Luxurious and fulfilling Vaping Experience. But Luxury rather than necessity is the biggest difference - and time available to enjoy it. I suppose it maybe similar for a Pipe smoker, who may accept smoking cigarettes to feed the craving but given the choice and time would much prefer to take their time to fill a bowl and have a pipe

At my stage I am just still frantically trying to scratch the itch, at times I have needed a anti histamine (unfortunately) but I understand what you mean. A bit like enjoying food and eating because you need to, due to hunger. I will just grab a sarnie when I have little time, yet, on none working days I enjoy making a delicious lunch that takes care and time to prep, yet tastes delicious. The result is still the same, that I have curbed my hunger, but the experience in doing so is poles apart. If I am right, in my example given, I look forward to my time where it is done as a luxurious exent, as I'm sure it will be, one day. Love your posts btw.
