Oops, just remembered that I missed out labelling the cone - it's the bit to the right of the clearomiser & is screwed onto the battery over a cartomiser just to make it more streamline The drip tip is used with the cartomisers (instead of replacing the white bung), to make them more comfortable on the mouth. You got there first Chrissie.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the strength of the juice, or e-liquid. It comes in various nicotine levels, measured in mg/ml, which can also be expressed as a percentage, i.e. 18mg/1.8%. 18mg is an average strength and would probably be about right for you to start with. If you think you need something stronger, then get a sample of 24mg. Some tough old cookies here use juice stronger again - up to 36mg - but that would blow my head off! Going the other way, many vapers settle on about 12mg, but some cut the nic levels down to as little as 4mg, or even zero-nic.
You will find juice made with either a PG (Propylene Glycol) or VG (Vegetable Glycerine) base. Each one has advantages over the other, so most juices use a mixture. PG gives a better taste to the flavouring and increases the Throat Hit (TH), but VG gives more physical vapour when you vape the device. Flavourings usually are based on PG.
So what difference does this all make? Well, a juice with 75/25 PG/VG will have a good taste and TH, and a reasonable amount of vapour, whereas a 50/50 mix will have a little less taste and more clouds of steam. It's really up to you to decide which one you prefer; it's a matter of personal preference at the end of the day.
A very small percentage of vapers have an allergic reaction to PG, and therefore use a VG mix, but this again will only be obvious after you've used the juice for a few weeks.
Once again, any questions, just ask away!
Andy

Welcome to the forum Divadee.
I am a newbie and had great help ffrom this forum. I got the Rival as suggested and find it great. I was smoking about 20 follies a day and found 30mg nice strength perfect to help me give up the dogs completely. I prefer clearos over cartos, but it comes down to personal choice, try them both and see which one you prefer.
I would suggest with whatever kit you get you buy a few samples of juices in different flavour and strengths. Don't feel you have failed if you carry on smoking for a while once you have your kit. It took me almost 3 weeks to find the right combination of flavour and strengths before I quit completely. The 18mg did help me cut down to around 5 a day which was a positive start.
Keep posting here and let us know which kit you decide on and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Hi divadee and welcome I started with the Vision 1000 kit and it has been fantastic,I chose it over the riva kit because filling clearomisers is a lot easier than filling cartomisers

Hi divadee, welcome to the forum, some amazing advice so far, you cant go wrong with the riva kit and you get to try clearomizers and carts to see which suits you best.
Good luck and make sure you let us know how it goes and any questions just ask away.

Both are good clearos, both have parts that can be replaced to make things cheaper.
The innokin is a dual coil so more flavour, more throat hit and more vapour but as with everything vaping it is all down to personal taste.
Some people love the vision v3 rainbows, some people love the innokins.
Either are a good choice, maybe try both and see which you prefer.

Welcome to you Divadee . . . the Visions you have linked to are rebuildable, which just means that the innards can be replaced very simply, when the heads you're using are past their usable life, so they are a better value option until you progress a little further. Edit to say: I'd also get one of each to see which gives you a preferred vaping experience.

Hi and welcome Diva, also think about ordering an atomiser so you can try different ejuices with minimal fuss. There's a thread in the beginners section about Dripping and it pretty much covers it all but in brief you can drip a few drops of liquid into an atomiser (atty) to try the juice rather than fill a cartridge or clearo and have to clean them out or possibly with a cart chuck it out if cleaning doesn't work The hardest part for me has been finding the right liquid to vape, I keep coming back to menthol despite not smoking menthol cigs so that might be an idea to include a menthol in your first liquid order. I haven't liked any tobacco based flavours yet, its all trial and error

Trying that last night was what finally encouraged me to go for it. So many of my friends are switching to vaping. They all can't be wrong lol.

Diva, you're right, I know of about 5 people that have started since the New Year (all of them cig-alike users that laugh at my riva, tut) they can't all be wrong. Tastes are very personal, ambrosia to one is poison to another which makes an atomiser very useful when tasting new stuff and deciding if it's for you or not I just wish I was this fussy with my food, never mind I've got a few new ones resting before I try

I may have to hold off ordering!! I really want the black riva! And out of stock at vapeescape.
I so wanted to get it ordered along with the extra clearomisers and lanyard (to keep it handy for work no pockets in uniform) but white or pink will stick out like a sore thumb on my black uniform. Hope they come back in stock soon.
