Just wasted the last hour or so... but fascinating!

Having been watching the news earlier about the BA flight from Heathrow dumping fuel and diverting back, I noted the website from the graphic they used to plot its path. Had a look and have been tracking all the flights in and out from just about everywhere since. Will have quietened down a bit now at this time of night, but it's absolutely amazing how many planes are rushing around the world at any one time.

I challenge you to not track at least a few flights...

No, but it looks like a small island so I'm not bothered about being stuck there

Erm.............I have that & a shipping AIS in my favourites & have a good look every now & then. The flight one came in really handy when the Icelandic volcano was going off, especially as I was flying up to the Outer Hebrides. Tracked a friend across from the States too & will be Thursday!

The last time I was on a plane, it went on fire.

Okay, it was sitting on the ground and we were at RAF Manston doing a Fire Fighting Course.

Still, when you see how easily these things melt when a bit of heat is applied, I am darned glad we were at 10 feet off the ground and not at 10,000 feet!

I was an MOD Fireman and we did all our training at Manston.
