batteries always charge with a very slightly higher charger than what the battery actually is but the ego circuit board regulates it but it is when the circuitry in the board goes wrong that causes the problem like when someone plugs it into a 2A supply and it is conversations like this that will keep us all safe

Hey thanks for stepping in ronaldo. Interesting results you have there, in that someone on here is giving bad advice and I trusted them. They actually jumped into a thread to correct me. Every ego I've had has come off the charger at 3.6/3.7 volts, but I was told I was wrong and that there were 4.2 volt ego batteries (not VV) Still, I believe I am still right in advising peeps to only use the charger that came with their battery. If only I could find that thread. I agree with advising that you should only use a charger designed for a particular battery, but advising to use only a charger that came with a battery is impossible, as ego batteries with the standard ego/usb connection do not come with chargers unless you buy a kit . I have bought from different companies al reputable and you do not get a charger included. If you go to e cig cabin, myepack, totally wicked, joyetech, tecc, any of those recommended on here or not - no charger.

I've bought plenty of egos in my early days, never had the option to buy them without chargers. But that's not the issue here. Mains adapter? Best bet is to look at what the charger needs and add ~15 or 20%. So a 420mA charger would be okay on a mains adapter rated at 500mA. Certainly not over 550mA. That's just my understanding of the electronics. Opinions do vary. Obviously ronaldo will have his own ideas. My main knowledge of batteries was gained whilst working on Clansman radios and other comms kit whilst in the forces.

Could you please link to the vendors on here that are selling ego batteries, spinners , twists with chargers , but not a kit

You're a hard lady to please (I may regret saying that). I've never bought an ego online, only ever bought them from local B&Ms in blister packs complete with chargers.
But that doesn't matter now. With ronaldo's help we've established that there's no difference in the chargers thamselves. Bit of a non-issue now I've been corrected.

Ah, blister packs - I-E kits.
Like those dodgy chinese kits you get even from supposed reputable vendors , A kit.

I never considered them a kit as they came without an atomizer. I was under the impression kits came with atties.
I'm still new to the vaping game and still have some learning to do. I know it's nowhere near as complex as radios but vaping does seem to have it's own nuances.

Nothing wrong with a good CE4, other than having to go through 20 of them to find that good one. I have 3 sat here that I keep my less favourite juices in just to refresh the tongue. Never bought an ego with one though. I always bought CE4s seperate as 'disposables' but kept the few good ones.
I stepped up rather early in my vaping journey.

There is an issue with ego chargers that I personally do not know how to advise on.
Take out your ego chargers, some of them the charging nipple is flat, some they are raised, now I know certain ego batteries will only charge with a certain one, but which I don't know as all mine are raised and I have had no problem

I hope we're on the same page. All the cheap egos I've bought have a recessed 510 connector. However on the charger that came with my iTaste EP the 510 extends outside of the plastic casing. It's the only charger I've seen that on. Dan you'll be fine with the charger sammy is sending. My messed up misinformed head has just cluttered this thread up

Surely the adaptor will only draw the amount of current that it is rated for on the Input side, which is normally 5v DC 500mA and then output at 4.2v DC 420mA, so as long as the wall wart is rated above that then it will work, the only problem will occur if the wall wart is rated lower that the input required.

My oh my! Leave you guys alone for a few hours and this happens! So what we've basically summed up is that I was right to only look at the ma rating of the charger and that's that? 420ma dongle, 500ma wall adapter, job's a gooden! That right Ripshod? Tease-smiley
