Vanillin Powder/Crystals Dilution

Hey guys,

Mixed up my vanillin with some pg today



I couldn't find a great deal of info on it so I just thought I'd share my method and thoughts.

I got the 10g bag of vanillin from @leisureliquid, you can get more for cheaper but 10g (by my workings out) is just short of 10 year supply for me so you do not need a lot xD

I measured out a quarter teaspoon of powder.

Tipped the powder onto a small piece of folded square paper. The paper made it easy to tip the powder into the small opening of the 10ml bottle.

I added 9ml of pg.

Shook for 30s.

Added to a bowl of hot water.

Replacing hot water and re-shaking every 5-10mins.

If there are some crystals remaining after doing this for a couple hours I will be letting them settle and using a syringe to take the liquid solution from this bottle and adding to another.

The mix is approx 10% vanillin strength. Using 1% per 10ml, 10ml vanillin solution gives you enough for 1 litre of diy liquid. 10 months worth for me!

Pretty much what I do Tom . . . other than to do the ' mixing ' in a measuring cup as it's easier to agitate/dissolve, then syringe up from there and bottle.

Just for fun...

I roughly vape 100ml/month... 1.2 litres per year.

100g vanillin enough for 1 litre of vanillin solution @10%...

1 litre using 1% in diy liquids means enough vanillin solution for 100 litres...

100g vanillin would last me 83.33333... years.

That bag would last me until 2098!

I could leave it in the will xD
