Orchid V6
Dual coil adjustable air flow raised air holes glass tank less than a tenner. Still got the fixed chimney cap, nearly perfect...! Ordered... and while I have your attention how's this Kayfun look? Ordered this too.

I love the Orchid V4 and this looks like an improvement with a glass tank although I think attys look much better with a small central window rather than all clear. The biggest issue I see with the V6 is the only option will be to fill from the fill hole, top fill won't be viable. I find it such a pain to fill the V4 from the bottom as there's so little room you can't get a blunt needle between tank and chimney. The v6 looks even more awkward to fill as the glass oring looks to partially cover the fill hole channel. I'll probably take a punt on one in my next order and hope to be pleasantly surprised

Got use to priming the cotton now and shaping to keep the juice channels free and not had a problem yet, just nice to see nothing's moved after putting the chimney on.

Are there different V6 versions ? I thought the same, but there are 2 other V6 with threaded tanks link & this one has a two part chimney. The thing that I have come to dislike the most is the terminals being drilled past the wire holes, I have managed a good connection with twisted 0.16 mm Ni200, but with twisted 0.17 mm kanthal after a while one of the strands loose contact and I get half a hot coil and burnt vape.

Yes,had my fair share of kanthal cutting while trying to clamp down, just done my first ni200 build and it didn't cut, maybe luck maybe the softer less brittle nature of nickel helps.

It didn't cut it, I think that with the thermal expansion one strand looses contact over time. On the twisted 0.17 kanthal build I could see one and a half strands glowing when pulsed.
I have got 3 of those chimneys on the way as I reckon 90% chance they will fit the V4.

Have 2 V4's and only done about 4 builds so far but for me they like to guillotine the wire....a more normal electrical "chock block" flat bottom would help us both here.... Not ordering them chimneys yet as I'm holding out hope the V6 will supersede my V4's and kayfuns, the V4's are still too airy for me, controlling it on the drip tip end is not ideal, think I will get a nicer (to me) kayfun draw controlling the inlet. Did have a quick read of the discussions with regards to the chimneys on fastech and they look good to go for the V4.. Edit; VapingBad what is the advantage over twisted wire, more surface area?

@letsavit yes more surface area, some ppl find it too harsh, but I think it gives better flavour. It's probably not that simple as it may be that it is more like complex coil windings like the Clapton coil that the coil does a bit of the wicking job (or bits of it would be dry) and heats more liquid on it's surface that is not in contact with the wick. enjay would be a good person to ask, he knows a lot more than I about different coil types.

Right got adjustable air flow and on my V4, basically throttled some tubes with pliers untill I got the overall draw I want. Have done a thorough engineering test of the flow rate by blowing and sucking on each side to make sure they're equal...! Now to coil it and see.......
