Here's my custard recipe.

Not fair if I keep all this custardy goodness to myself 


6% Vanilla Custard v1 (CAP)

4.5% French Vanilla (CAP)

4.5% New York Cheesecake (CAP)

1% Ethyl Maltol (CAP)



At least 3 weeks steep time.....with the cap ON.

Hope you find it as yummy as everyone else I've given it to.

Sorry!! Not been back on since yesterday when I popped in to give kreed my verdict

This is an absolutely lovely custard recipe and I highly recommend it to anyone who just can't seem to find a custard diy mix their happy with.

I know many people seem to go for high % of CAP VC in mixes, but this custard is proof you don't need to do that. I made 20 mls up just over 3 weeks ago and didn't touch a drop till yesterday (I have uber custard steeping will power!).

The NY cheesecake is really great for mouth feel and the whole thing comes together very well indeed. I would say that you really shouldn't try it for 3 weeks though, and I know it'll only get better the longer you leave it after that.

I'm a fussy git when it comes to custard (I mean come on, in a year of diy I still haven't quite got my own version where I want it!!!).

I see you have Calpol there, love that stuff, kinda muted in a subtank but really shines in a dripper, 7 days steeped for me!

I couldn't wait 3 wks to try Kreeds Custard as whenever I shake the bottle it smelt lovely! So had a wee test and it's fantastic, likely to be my ADV if I can let it steep lol

I fact I am liking it that much I just mixed up 250 ml as the original was only a 30 ml tester lol
