I don't tend to use any PG as I go for as higher VG as the concentrates will allow me to go. Cheers for the tips!

That could well be the reason why you find the flavour weak, PG is the stuff in the mix that brings out the flavour, VG makes the bigger clouds but imo too much kills the taste. Try a little 10ml tester at 60pg 40vg just to see if you get more flavour, then you can try another at 50 /50 write it all down until you hit the best mix. But i have to agree with the others that your concentrates seem a tad low.

The thing is, whilst I do understand that PG carries more flavour, the Element juice that i vape regularly is 80% VG and it's full of flavour so it is possible. Plus I'm not really after any throat hit. For the sake of science though I'm going to make a little fruit based tester tonight at 50/50. Am thinking something along the lines of - 13% Sweet Tangerine CAP 10% raspberry CAP 2% Sweetener So with fruit I should just give a good shake for 2 minutes and breath it over night and then this should be ready?

I'd be more inclined to try these ratios at first and take it from there catface26: 12% Tangerine 8% Raspberry 1% Sweetener Whilst I also use VG heavy mixes and many ' premium blends ' are likewise thesedays . . . . I do believe in giving most some time to steep. Even if you buy freshly mixed ready made it's probably had about 3 days blending before you try it. A number of eliquid Vendors do also pre-steep for a couple of weeks before it goes out to their customers. So, I'd probably give this 4 or 5 days before you use it . . . . .

Based on the advice about fruit flavours not needing to steep I made up the following recipe last night, breathed it over night and have just tasted it and it's good! Tangerine Dream 10% Sweet tangerine CAP 5% Blood orange FW 3% ripe strawberry TFA 2% Raspberry CAP 2% sweetener TFA Nice and flavourful, fruity vape.

If you want a similar effect, and just do a tester to start, try upping your sweetener to around 4%. Your coils will gunk like crazy but they will carry the same sweetness that element provide. Hope that helps

It does indeed thank you!
I only ever had coil gunking problems when I used replaceable coils in my subtank. Since building my own I don't get any issues and my wicks easily last a week. I quite often use Claptons now and rebuild about once a fortnight.
Slightly different in my Bellus but that's a right bastard to get right!

One other question - If fruit flavours diminish over time then how would you go about preserving that flavour if you were going to make say a strawberry custard or strawberry cream?

I have found the best success with fruit custards buy adding the fruits at the end of the custard steep. For example. For a 15% custard 5% orange mix. mix the recipe, leave out the orange. at 4 weeks add the orange, steep for 3 days. Boom, lovely creamy custard with prominant juicy orange

I have some Kandi Head - crazy creamy custard concentrate so will have a go at this.

4 weeks steeping though. Ouch.
Interestingly, on justvape247 it says for this particular concentrate to steep for 10 days not 4 weeks. Is 4 weeks set in stone for custards?
