if that materialises as per the news article it will be at least fair to the general public, some of those vape juices do have a funny smell and some people love belching out clouds while others are trying to eat ......

This is great news. It means if you vape somewhere like a Vape shop, then you are not breaking the law. You could also vape responsibly in an indoor public area. They might state 'no e-cigs' on the door (that you hadn't seen etc. etc.) and not be happy with you, but you can't be fined or whatever.

I can sort of understand the thinking behind them being banned in schools & places where food is served, but public transport makes no sense whatsoever.

Public transport is more enclosed than indoor public spaces? (that's all I can think of)... Should I need to catch a bus or train in Wales (it might happen) I think vape-free rather than a vape 'free-for-all' is acceptable. Small price to pay. I have dual residency so I'll tell you how it pans out. There ain't much 'cloud' action in my part. Even 15 watts of pure Lime fog sent the local folk into a spin.

I am in shock - never thought he'd back down at all tbh I'm delighted given the dubious quality of reports he was using to base his decisions on it is rather a strange turn of fate unless he always planned to climb down and started off being totally OTT to see if his desired measures would get through the house, but it makes sense that the guy in charge of creating rules based on what tiny amount of "credible data" he has to go on would try to ban the whole thing (in this case credible data means the garbage produced by or on behalf of the control lobby who seem to be in charge of deciding what's credible thanks to the U.N.) I can even sort of see his point about there being possible long term dangers, I knew about the problem of "popcorn lung" a few years ago along with other "dodgy substances" that were being used in some e-liquids and it stopped me from even trying vaping for more than 2 years, it probably shouldn't have and some serious effort to research the matter would of brought me here eventually but i'll be upfront and say what little I knew put me off the whole idea even though I knew having tried it several times that normal NRT just didn't get me off fags, when I finally started vaping some months back I had spent the best part of 4 years causally looking into things on the odd occasion where I had yet another chest infection and felt like my lungs were on fire but I was still very dubious about the whole idea, it helps that vaping had grown to be more mainstream and the price of starter kits dropped significantly that I was more willing to give it a go, along with the fact so many liquid vendors had a decent reputation within the community. thing is like many I am still wary of trying some things and despite good customer reviews I hesitate to order some things that i'm pretty sure i'll like because there is no list of ingredients to be found anywhere (some provide a generic list of what pre mix ingredients they use across the range and others don't) getting rid of some of the unknowns will make things a lot clearer and more appealing to a lot of smokers that have thus far failed to see an benefit in moving from one deadly habit to another potentially deadly habit (especially if they read mainstream news publications and don't realise its all control lobby propaganda to introduce a new hyper tax calculator and new funding for yet to be introduced public health programs that keep them employed) lets hope that this is a trend we will see copied when it comes time for the Westminster lot to publish their version of the tpd prior to implementation, it seems from looking at the Welsh Assembly extracts they are focusing primarily on cigalike products and not mentioning the main stream vaping gear, if that is indeed the case it might be the best way to subvert the EU's arbitrary ban on all the free market choice across England and wales (it looks like Scotland will do whatever the control lobby tell them to though)

What makes you say this ? I remember watching a consultation/committee meeting thing that looked quite promising that they would take a sensible approach on the matter.

Why any one would vape where they wouldn't smoke is beyond me. it's just antagonising the general public, which is the last thing we want. it seems like a favourable result.
I was in a superdry shop the other day and some prat was vaping at the counter... what a complete pillock !! why on earth would you vape " Just because you can" Some people just boil my blood !
Show some respect people!
this is aimed at the yokals not the savvy people.

I've never been a believer in the Divine Right to Vape Anywhere. As much as on a personal level it would suit me, it's inappropriate and shows a lack of courtesy. Whatever happened to common sense.

Surely you don't equate vaping with smoking Balllsy? That's how it reads. And that's what the opposition are hoping for.

Well vaporised aberdeen lost my business the other day for looking 'closed' due to the huge amount of sweet smelling fog in store when they first opened!!! (not seen since but not been in since. Just passed on bus) And I'm a seasoned vaper (there were a couple of other factors as well but the fog was an issue) Fogging folk is for rebellious teens - not for grown ups I'm fully in favour of climb down. You can't vape anywhere on the rail network in the UK as is - not a prob! Jane
