Tougher sentences for those who assault emergency service workers

this petition to the government was set up by my old divisonal general manager and hasnt come soon enough as one of our on call radiographers was attacked by a patient in casualty 2 weeks ago. punched in the face and kicked in the stomach at 5.30am after a 12 hour shift. the person then chased another member of staff pulling computers of desks causing over £3000 worth of dammage and then they still had to be treated.

It seems your public facing staff are facing similar safety issues as is happening here. Staff not being able to go about their duties without needing protection - "bouncers" needing to be employed to safeguard emergency staff.

The support we get off of emergency workers is fantastic.

My local hospital is great, their joined up working and admin, leave a bit to be desired.

But the care is fantastic.

Had to use it quite often, unfortunately, recently.

Usually poor IT is to blame.
