Got my drip tip from TW yesterday, it's fab...no more messing around with carts and a decent throat hit every time. However, it does leak in my bag when not in use...not always possible to keep it upright! Any good ideas for avoiding this?

Am just about to test my first ever drip tip Lindsay, so I don't have any informed suggestions atm, but have you a 'container' of some sort you can keep your ecig in so it doesn't make any mess in your handbag, hard spectacle cases are a fav of mine. Having just tested my drip tip ( wow! ) I can see better what you mean, a little cover/end cap of some description would solve the leakage thing. What that could be I'll have to ponder.

If you have one, a membrane (cover) from a cartomizer fits the drip-tip perfectly. I have three different types of tip and the cart cover fits all. I don't have problems with leakage as I vape the lot before putting the cig away. A hard, tube-type spectacle case is perfect also. Fox

Best thing to do is only drip just before you intend to vape. Drip no more than 3 drips and vape until just before you are about to taste the burning. Then set it down. When carrying in your bag, try popping one of the rubber cartomiser caps over the end.

Could I just ask you ladies in the know, what are the pro's/con's of short v long drip tips, similarly plastic v aluminum? As this is a new means of vaping to me, am uneducated thus far!

I have tried it and the only difference that I can see is that you use more juice to get the same result or am I missing something. ? You may get a slightly better throat hit but I think it is because the juice gets hotter and maybe even burns to achieve that. I know that I am still a relative newbie but cannot see the benefit as you will still get your nic hit with a cart whether it burns your throat or not which is what people seem to call a throat hit and with a cart its not likely to do that unless you let it run dry. ??? Its not rocket science vaping and I think that if the atomisers were designed originally to be used with carts why would you need to change it. ? Just my thoughts on the matter of course and I am sure others may disagree lol. Ken.

Damn, Foxy, I had immediately had that bright idea and tested it (perfect) and came back to find that you'd beat me to it - shoulda read the whole thread first Yes, perfect solution, you just need someone to send you some carto "condoms", Lindsay, wipe the drip-tip dry before vaping. Not me, sorry, cos I don't go out but we've got several wonderful "senders" here. scylla

Kenny, People usually resort to dripping because they get fed up with carts not working properly when they vape heavily. If carts satisfy you, no reason to move to dripping but for a lot of people, they just do not work, and no amount of special foams, or cart modifications is going to improve that for them. It's just a lot easier to notice the subtle changes when the atomiser is about to go dry, and pop 2-3 drops straight in there. Before drip tips came along, many people just tail-piped their devices because they were just so fed up with removing the cart all the time to either drip in it, or direct drip. These drip tips, are a boon, specially since they are available in so many colours and materials now.
Perpy, it's mostly about personal preference although for lower resistance atomisers such as a Joye510 (not SLB 510) or specific LR atties, or for any atty that spits a lot, I'd choose a longer drip tip over a shorter one. Gives the vapour a few more mm to travel and cool.
As to material - personal preference again. Metal can look a lot nicer, but some people don't like the feel of it in their mouth. It also picks up the heat, some like that, some don't

you're most welcome. As with all these things, it's a case of trying it all out and finding out what works for you because everyone is so different.

That's part of the fun of vaping for me ~ trying out these different bits & bobs . . . . . would that I felt that way about vaccum cleaners or irons!
