You remember my former 'inmates' who tried out 'vaping beneath the sheets' ? Well................. they asked me to just mention that when google-ing e cigs, they didn't come across this board & only managed to find it after texting me. Been asked to mention it because they lurked & were SO impressed with it here. Wondered if there's a way to make it come up on most e cig searches??

Three hours later!!

All becomes clear - didn't expect such goings on! Last time I looked (pre- my own dramas) there were only slightly ruffled feathers.

Spent ages "reading up". Glad I missed it all!!! ( I would have contributed, had I been around though!!!) Made me sad, (amongst other emotions!) Sympathies to Chrissie & Mods. Sympathies to peeps who were hurt or offended also.

Lines have been drawn. Enough said.

Lolli, from just doing a search "e-cigarette forum" we don't show up till page 7

However, searching "all about e-cigarettes" we are on page 1

I know Chrissie - have just spent a while putting the following into google & we don't come up for ages - pages, even.

e cigs
e cigarettes
electronic cigarettes
e cig forum
vaping
etc etc etc

Because I think this place is so amazingly fab, it's such a crying shame
(wouldn't have realised if it hadn't been brought to my attention)

Just wish sooooooooooooooo much we came up on page 1 of all the aforementioned google searches.

Just done a search for "all about e-cigarettes" and we're a starred result at the very top, and we're further down on the first page amongst the "normal" results - but not many people would search for that. "About e-cigarettes" puts us second in the starred results but nowhere else on page 1.

Would we have to call ourselves something like "electronic cigs aficionados" to get to page 1 without fail?

Scylla, I can change the URL name to anything we want (wish I'd thought of it more carefully when hurriedly setting up this forum - just didn't help that James the pink gave us 24 hours to remove all links from the ebay e-cig group on such a sad day for me ). But if I do change "what we call ourselves" every member will have to change their bookmarks/favourites.

Though I would love the forum to attract as many new members as possible, so that we can help spread the word about e-cigs I just don't want to make things difficult for all of the current members that we all care about so much

To be perfectly honest (at the risk of exposing my frailty ), I'm in two minds about attracting a lot of new members.

(1) We do want to spread the word and we know we suit certain types of people much better than some of the more frenetic forums;

(2) I'd rather we stayed "little and good".

Trouble is Scylla that you probably can't have both.

As forums get bigger they tend to attract all kinds of people both good , bad, and indifferent as thats just a reflection of life.

We can't all be good.

Worse case scenario is that you will probably get some more toublesome critters like me.
