I am a purely social smoker and just enjoy having something to hold in my hand and seeing a plume of smoke. I'm not addicted to smoking at all, don't need a nicotine fix, etc. So with this in mind, I am looking for a good nicotine FREE electronic cigarette ... something I can smoke at my desk whilst working to blow off some stress I am completely new to all this. Please can someone point me in the direction of the best e-cigarette to purchase that is cost effective, and nicotine free refills / cartridges (whatever they are called). I have spent the best part of an hour on the net doing research and not making much headway. Thanks in advance for your help.

A warm welcome to All-About, Vishy I can't help feeling that even though you're "only a social smoker" you would miss the nicotine... Be that as it may, you have a very wide choice of hardware because all you have to do is choose no-nic cartridges or liquid, whichever model you go for. I would have thought that the 510 would be a nice elegant little e-cig for you to flourish. It seems a long time since I looked at the basic models like the 901, 510, etc, so I'm not sure who is doing the best value at the moment. If you dive in and buy a 510 starter kit and familiarise yourself with it and with the general e-cig "culture", you can later on decide to go for a more exotic model like a Tornado/eGo or suchlike. See what the others say later today scylla

I doubt you'd be satisfied with nicotine free vaping as there's not a lot of throat hit. I'd recommend any new starter to get the Tornado, it's a hassle free device with great battery life.

Welcome Vishy I agree with the others. You can use any e-cig with either zero nicotine cartridges (refilling your cartridges with e-liquid works out much cheaper than buying lots of prefilled carts.) But I do think you would do better starting with a very low level nicotine content. You can then slowly cut down to no nic if you wish to do so. (Slaps James for plugging his wares outside the suppliers forum ) Vishy, last time I checked, vapor station had some of the best deals on 510 or 901 starter kits www.vaporstation.co.uk/index.phpUnfortunately their site appears to be down at the moment though. their starter kits come with extra batteries & atomisers. However, the cartridges in the kits are dry, so you would need to buy some e-liquid straight away. James sells great juice with a good choice in small bottles for you to try @ only £3.00 (I can plug him cos I'm not a seller ) paradisevapeuk.vstore.ca/index.php/cName/ejiuce

Thanks to all for the suggestions - I appreciate it. I was up past 3am last night looking into electronic cigarettes - crazy Jimmy and Scylla - I hear what you are saying about maybe me being slightly addicted, but I really doubt it. I don't smoke cigarettes, I usually smoke little cigars (cigarillos), like Hamlet miniatures. Because I am asthmatic, I never inhale and don't really go for a throat hit. I just love puffing away stress with a cup of tea / coffee or beer, and LOVE the idea of being able to sit at my desk whilst working puffing away .... like in 80's movies But hey, I do love having a very occassional cigar so maybe I am eeeeeever so mildly addicted to the nicotine (but I still doubt it). I am looking forward to placing my first order. Regarding your recommendations - I like the look of this 901 (http://www.e-cigs.co.uk/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10_88&products_id=1) ... haven't looked at the 510 yet. I see the starter kits come with 5 cartridges. I was thinking of ordering an additional 25 no nicotine cartridges that are pre-filled with menthol or some other type of no nicotine vapour stuff. I have a few other questions ... 1. Are you guys recommending that I buy blank cartridges and a bottle of no nicotine juice, and then just fill up the cartridges myself? 2. Of the e-cigarettes you've mentioned, which ones give a mighty plume of "smoke" / vapour? 3. If I use the same atomiser with cartridges containing different e-fluids, will that taint the specific taste? Do you recommend using one atomiser for each different e-fluid? Thanks for your help everyone - I am really enjoying looking into all this. I can just see myself on a warm summers day, with a beer in my little garden, puffing away

1. In my experience, using juice is way better than pre-filled. Buy empty carts with a few small bottles of different flavours. don't buy big bottles of juice as you may not like it.
2. The tornado wins on all counts. And don't discount battery life on the minis...You will tire of charging the batteries. At peak, fully charged, they're fine, but after only half an hour, the performance drops and sooner rather than later you're gonna be reaching for the charger. Tornado's give you around 8 hours peak performance. At peak, the flavour, vapour and throat hit are all better.
3. I have 3 on the go...one for mint flavours, one for tobacco flavours and one for fruit/sweet flavours.

Thanks Buckowski The Tornado sounds ace. Does it give out lots of smoke / vapour? I like the sound of having 3 atomisers on the go for those 3 categories you mention - very smart I will certainly get a variety of different small bottles of no nicotine juices and give them a try. Do you have a link to the best value deal I can get on a Tornado starter kit and some empty cartridges?

Vishy, it really is so hard to recommend the best model e-cig. As Bucko says, the Tornado is highly recommended & from all accounts it's a darn good e-cig Check out this thread for discount codes : allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=87For instance, re the links in Bucko's threads - T4BE699 will give you a 7.5% discount code for any products from totally wicked & ECR69 a 5% discount from ENJUICE And yes, either buy blank cartridges or prefilled ones (but don't buy too many) - both types can be prefilled over & over again with e-liquid James, my dear, you are so helpful we forgive you for everything

I consider the best vaping device on the market is the Totally Wicked Tornado - terrific vapour and excellent battery life.
I've tried several of ENJuice's no-nic liquids, all of which are excellent.
The cheapest seller I know is Vapor Station that sell a 510 starter kit consisting of three batteries, two atomizers, charger, blank cartridges and carrying pouch for just £26 plus postage, less discount using the code UKVAPERS.
