Wife and daughter seem to find it most hilariouse, like me coming home from work early this afternoon, going up for a shower, decided that would not be a wise course of action, as i could hardly walk, or get my leg over to get in the bath, then i tried to take my works top of got it halfway over my head and had to call my mrs to help me get undressed. so had a lie down this afternoon, and have taken painkillers meh, just now tried to open a bottle of red we got from francais, so what i hear you ask well, our bottle opener is knackered, so i have to screw it in as normal, ok so far, but then you pull the two arms down to lift the cork, nay nay, as the bottom of the opener is broken, so i get a spoon or knife and thread it through the top of the opener and pull, big deal you say, well try doing it when you can hardly get out of your chair, dil was peeing herself, and i had to get the mrs to hold the bottle down whilst i pulled, nothing comes between a man and his merlot, that is all

Funny that.....my missus always finds it hilarious when I hurt myself. It's rubbing off on my daughter now too. Having them both laugh at me everytime I'm in pain is great..... :-[ If we have another daughter in October I may as well get myself a shed and live in it...... I never laugh at them. I'm always pretty concerned.......couldn't laugh at other peoples pain if I wanted too really. Hope the pain doesn't last too long mate.

Blue, if you often have problems with your back, try going to a Chiropractor.

Ooh, as a fellow sore back sufferer, I feel your pain, mate. It's got to the stage now, where I can only do a couple of hours work before I simply have to stop and that's being careful. If I'm not careful it's down tools in as little as ten minutes and if I persevere I'm wrecked for a week or ten days of recovery. All this started 20 years ago when I lifted a tool box the wrong way... I know what you mean about the missus - wimmen are evil

Laughing with a bad back never helps, neither does a 4 year old trying to bounce on it no amount of opiate based pain killers work. Mines down to a genetic condition and arthritis, - that's the way the back crumbles - my rheumatologist's catch phrase Throw in some fibromyalgia & ms and you realise that your back, it a pretty important item of your body. I'm in damage limitations, but do look after your backs, lift properly, or if you handle anything above 7kg - you qualify for a free course on how to lift If you can get to see a physio, they'll give you good tips for strengthening back muscles. Beware of a chiropractor, as brilliant as they sometimes can be, they can also do more harm than good. Good gentle exercise, balanced with rest on a good flat surface. A funnel might be useful if drinking or a long flexible straw Watch wayballoo and learn how to levitate and defy gravity Hope your back gets better anyway -

I had a slipped disc 7 years ago, sneezed and turned at the same time I went to a chiro and unfortunately he wasn't very good , managed to trap a few nerves too. Argh, really and truly I think I should have gone to the docs in the first place cos by the time I saw her, she came to me, told me off and gave me very very strong painkillers, I might add that all through this I crawled to the kitchen door to have a nasty!!!! ???
