Hello all!
So, today I got a Riva 1100 deluxe kit, with 5 different Grizwald's Gourmet Range's Pick'n' Mix from VapeEscape, no gripes there. When it came to setting it up (I'll admit, there was little to no researched involved, something I've only just started appreciating was a fool move) I put the Cocomel flavour into a clearomiser, and there was some leaking and the like. I cleaned up as best I could and no more leaks, but the vaping is less than pleasing. I then did the same thing but with a cartomiser (using guidance from a video I found displaying what I'm told is the condom method) and while it's not fantastic (though I'm told it can take a little while to get accustomed to vaping) it's certainly better than the clearomiser. The clearomiser seems to be very harsh on the throat.
I was just wondering if clearomisers are generally harsher? Or is it even because it's all new and they need "breaking in"?
Thanks, all!
R.

Hi ryan and #welcome2# you have chosen a great starter kit, it will just take a little while to get used to it! The clearomiser - did you make sure to fill down the sides and avoid the centre hole? The drip tip scres in on top but don't screw it in too tightly. cartomisers - the condom method is good for getting the juice right into the wadding. did you fill enough for the juice to come over the top of the wadding and then let sit until it all soaks in? You can then fill from the top by a couple of drops at a time, avoiding the centre hole. When ready to vape hold a tissue over the connector end and blow through to get rid of any excess. This is a great little tool for topping up cartomisers and filling visions www.cig-eliquid.co.uk/spiky_thing_basic/p649230_5247562.aspxkeep asking questions, there is always someone around who will help

I've just expermented with the clearomiser taking a smaller draw, and it's a world's difference! Miles better. Is that also usual? My mother (a fellow vaper, and probably a member on here) told me that it was meant to be long and slow draws, though I'm guessing it'll be a to-taste type thing as much as anything.

Hi ryan and The clearomiser - did you make sure to fill down the sides and avoid the centre hole? The drip tip scres in on top but don't screw it in too tightly. I did try to avoid the centre hole, but because of the leaking I think I might have failed with that!

Glad your sorted Ryan, its true how we all have our way of vaping to get the most out of things, I usually do a double draw, smallish first one big second one I just experimented with the double draw and that one seems even more palatable! I'll keep at it and see how I go. After seeing all the sigs and how much people have saved, I think I'll stick to it even if I start hating it!

Oh good! I'll just worry about when the clearomiser is empty and I need to fathom out how to clean out the clearomiser to put something new in! Thank heavens for the internet and youtube!

I never thought to ask how to vape when I started and I did like I was smoking and inhaled immediatly ( that was my big mistake ) when I found out to hold it in your mouth for a few seconds before inhaling what a difference it made.
