... suitable for taking apart laptops etc. Must have thick handles! (And be magnetic.) I can't take the bottom off my overheating laptop because I can't grip the screwdriver handles (have tried a couple of different types).

have you tried T shaped handles? would you be able to grip those better?

No, Gordy, I haven't tried them (nor thought of them, even), and they couldn't be any worse than what I've tried. I'll have a look around, any suggestions for particular products would be very welcome.

Get ones with a hexagonal handle, and use an adjustable spanner to help turn them? I'm guessing that once the screws are loosened, you can then turn the screwdriver by hand. I usually magnetise my screwdirvers myself, by stroking with a magnet. Good magnets can be found in loudspeakers or better still extracted from a dead computer hard drive (requires a certain amount of violence though).

I messaged my brother and he told me where his screwdriver set is, so it's done. The set comprises one fat handle and lots of different types of heads, easy peasy.
