Just awaiting on my new one - Sony Xperia-U - was on odd choice, but since no pennies are being exchanged apart from for an on-the-go USB lead (which means USB devices just plug in and work) - I'm quite chuffed. Had a play with one, and although it is just a basic mid range, and still with Gingerbread, Ice cream is due September - it's a very good phone - quick, responsive, good signal, fast wi-fi, nice screen, easy to use, good battery life, so - Sony it is Samsungs just kept being buggy and - very good at DOA too OH's Samsung Ace 2 is being replaced due to issues next time there is chance for her to pop into the store. HTC wildfire was alright - but wasn't great - apart from the laggy department For my first Android it was ok, my brother's also enjoyed being dropped in coffee and still proving to everyone it could still work iPhone - well, never got a signal in the house with it, and really didn't like it - I was sooo disappointed, I really wanted to love it as a phone, but didn't. Essential, expensive wastes of time phones are As for your choice, Samsung will win on spec, but I'd go for an HTC if it was me, it is like a choice between a Ford or a Vauxhall. as long as it has the features you want to do with it, then go for it, doesn't matter with same spec. phones these days, they either work or they don't. In regards to battery life - treat them well, and they're fine, or, if they're replaceable, you can buy bigger mAh batteries! Another reason for choosing the phone I did, it had a replaceable battery Best of luck, and you could always go for a Sony

Best of luck, and you could always go for a Sony I hear that the Sony Experia S will have access to an AOSP ROM (like Nexus devices from Google), including most if not all drivers too. That's a pretty sweet move I think. Edit: Added link

I bought an Xperia X10 with MIUI OS. It switches itself off within 10 seconds of turning on I managed to set up my GMail and send a text on it before it went wrong, but if it was working it would take me years to understand it. I just had to have a smartphone, didn't I?!

Lot of people buy from there Nicky but a bit hit an miss and most of the time, the advertised specifications are completely wrong..
Eten Users forum has a lot of information on mass manufactured cloned mobiles from China..Some of them are good, but I would inform myself well before making a purchase. There is a Portugese ROM cook called Bruno Martins who writes decent ROM's for these if any one wants to have a punt...

Not that anybody gives a damn but I've got my new second-hand Xperia X10 working again. All I need now is to understand how to use it

Very kind of you, Judgey But me not wishing to admit what a silly billy I'd been in choosing my very first smartphone, I didn't mention that it's MIUI I need to put my mind to combining Android and MIUI and writing an instruction leaflet for myself
