Lol Ciar, as Perpy said it's a shame one person has ruined it for the rest of us , i am certain it's not a step Chrissie has taken lightly.

What it also means is the influence of those who left or were pushed, continues..
Makes no difference to me whether the button is there or not..But a poll for say 7 days might yield a more democratic and transparent result, if such a thing is desired.

Well, we can probably go on ad infinitum debating this I suspect Macca . . . what has been decided and implemented is no different to what happens on a large number of forums. Some don't even allow the editing of ones own posts, which I personally don't care for.
We also have to safeguard against something similar happening again in the future, however sensible the current membership is, who is to say what could happen at some point in the future. The implementation of this measure now, addresses that possible future issue.

I would say that someone deleting their own posts is not an attack on the forum to need safe guarding measures.
There is no debate about this as it has already been done, more like post mortem. It also means those who no longer are part of or wish to be part of this board have left a lasting impression which affects everyone else. I wouldn't necessarily say it's a change for the better.
Messaging boards are pretty much the private property of whosoever runs them, so they can do what they want. I have no issues with that.

Sorry Macca & everyone else, but though I have always tried to be democratic in the past with most issues, there isn't going to be a poll about this one. When someone especially deletes all of their opening posts on a forum, it does have an effect on the forum as anyone clicking on those threads are going to be puzzled to say the least. plus it takes away the continued right to reply as there is nothing left to reply to. Once again, I & the moderators seem to be dammed if we don't take any action & dammed if we do Lol, try deleting, or even modifying a post you have made on the eBay community boards - impossible to do so. Post a post on there that just one person may not like & it will be deleted & the poster gets a reprimand, even for just saying "hello".

eBay community boards, cyber 'verbal' free for for all punch ups. > The moderators don't even look at a reported post, they delete it and the poster gets a warning, even if they're the innocent party. It happened to me once as I wasn't one of their "in crowd." Terrible place. Needless to say, I never went there again after that.

I'm back and I will admit that I was the first one to delete a number of my posts. I won't get into the details as to how and why, that's in the past, but I take full responsibility for this recent action that was taken by Chrissie. I believe that it is the correct action, to avoid problems in the future. That being said, I want to publicly apologize to the forum members for disrupting this forum as I have done in the past. I have already privately apologized to Chrissie, as she is/was my friend and it was she who invited me to join here. I don't know if I will be allowed to stay here, but if not, then I at least had the opportunity to post this message. Edit: I have read the 'other' thread and the reason I left was because after talking to Chrissie, I felt (wrongly) that she was about to ban me from the AAE-C. I deleted my account to avoid that.

One more thing. To those of you who understood that I was ridiculing cliques and not trying to start one and who supported me, both publicly and privately both here and elsewhere, thank you, I truly appreciate it.

Welcome back Jerry The decision to stop deleting posts isnt anything to do with you thou Jerry, someone was abusing it and making threads very difficult to follow.

Jerry, Bel is right to a certain extent. I did make the final decision to remove the delete facility due to someone deleting many of their posts including Opening Posts, as they wished to leave the forum & wanted to remove their content before doing so.
