ive looked at a few threads regarding wire and wick and im more lost than when i started reading them. some say this wire some say that. can i get several opinions of what and where, id likely get a years worth or so so im sorted out for well "a year". i realise some methods are sort of being tested so you might say dont buy too much just yet. all opinions welcome.

From macca, For a beginner I would recommend buying the 1.8 ohm pre-coiled wick and wire assembly from here. But they are currently out of stock but I am sure stocks will be arriving soon. www.health-e-vape.co.uk/machine-p....ohms-3121-p.aspThis one is very easy to use provided you have a mulitmeter handy. measure out your desired resistance, cut and fit. No coiling required as it is already pre-coiled or just ask someone who has used it how many coils of that equals 2.2 ohms. I think bluemagnum has used some and he will know. If you want to do everything from basics and follow the tutorial, buy two x 1.5 mm wick from here: You will get 1meter of 2mm wick thrown in for free.. www.cig-eliquid.co.uk/fiberglass_....30_2911788.aspxThen get some 0.16 mm Nichrome wire from wires.co.uk (item no 4 in link below..) www.wires.co.uk/cgi-bin/ss000001.....TION&PR=-1&TB=AMeasure out between 4 and 4.5 cm of the 0.16 mm Nichrome wire and wrap a coil around the 1.5 or 2mm wick using a pin for support and you'll be fine..Don't worry about number of coils.. You will end up with a coil of resistance between 2.2-2.4 ohms Blakey uses extra no resistance wire to make the tails to minimize scorching the rubber grommet insulator, which is the best way of doing it. If you prefer to do this, then get either item no 10 "0.2 soft fine silver wire" or item no.8 "0.236mm Nickel Wire" However, if it is too much hassle, you can make the "tails" directly from the nichrome wire but you will get some amount of scorching.

Great advice as always from macca, but note that that's for re-coiling a vision rather than a Penny edited for typo

I got my wick hereAnd wire hereI went for the .16 nicr and .2 silver thanks oneday, i would like a few more links and why you buy what you buy. i read 2mm, 1mm, 3mm and even 1mm with 2mm, thats without starting on the wires. i realise theres going to be opinions on varying methods but i would like to read them if possible. macca posted the other day on a what seemed completely different to others ive read. am i right in the you only get 10 wicks per mt so would need about 8mts per year. one idea i had and its probably terrible but if you thread the middle piece of wire onto a needle before you join the wires. would this make the wrapping of the wick somewhat easier and consistent. raggy..............

Raggy the channels in the penny that the wick runs down take a 3mm wick, as supplied with a new penelope. Some people make up wicks from different combinations to get more juice to the coil. I haven't threaded wire onto a needle but it can be handy to wrap around the wick supported by a needle to keep it firm and neat. So far I'm sticking to basic wick ans coil building until I'm more experienced at it

Yeah, keep it simple... check Blakey's photo tutorial and Scott's video, make a few wicks and wires until you feel confident. I wasted a bit of wick and wire in my first attempts, but it's coming together

Alex at Vapour Hut stocks what he calls a 2.5mm wick Raggy, it's exactly the same as the 3mm wick that the Penelope comes with. vapourhut.com/atomiser-wick?filter_name=wickYou need something that will withstand high temperatures, otherwise it will just burn. I can sort you out with two resistances of NC wire, think I've got 0.16 and 0.212 . . . some Silver and the ordinary stuff for your non res. And, I'll pop some wick in . . . that will all give you ample to have a play around with, to find which you best prefer, before you start bulk buying. I'll get on to it tomorrow.

No worries Raggy, s'wot mates are for. Don't get bogged down, it really is quite straightforward, has to be else I couldn't manage it. I'll label all the different wires up clearly, so you'll know which is what, have a play with them, then you can decide which is best for you. The Penelope also comes with a ready wire, so you'll be able to get coiling pretty immediately.
