Unless I'm reading it wrongly, I can't see where they are saying they are not allowing/welcoming any expert opinions?
I can't see where they are saying they aren't allowing any expert opinions?
In a letter to companies in the industry, the MHRA claimed that they had not realised that the timing of their meeting - during a general election - was breaking their own rules.
This means that Professor Carl Phillips, who accepted a temporary position as a consultant to UK company Cigarette Direct after he was refused access to the meeting as an independent expert, will still not be able to give his advice to the body making such an important decision.
OK the above reads to me that they wouldn't accept Carl Phillips' as an independent expert & that now they have changed the date of the meeting, he can't attend now for that reason?

The article states that Carl Philips was "refused access" to the MHRA meeting - he was coming to the UK on other business at that time anyway so would have been available to give his 'expert opinion' at that time.
