I recognise 8 years ago vaping was so much harder than nowdays. I've heard of tea bags, fishtank filler and all sorts - nothing like the readily available range of good gear nowdays. That you made it thro those early "pioneering" times is well worthy of note. I think in a perverse way, we quite enjoyed the challenge Dave! And of course, we knew no better . . . . nor realised that around the corner lay such great and wonderful advances in equipment. We were all just thrilled to find an alternative to smoking that actually worked and relished the moment for what it was. Thank you All for the further congrats, our forum has played a large part in my vaping life over the years, in addition to being responsible for a good few Shopping Opportunities.

5 years to the day i have been off the stinkies and started vaping. I have not had one coffin nail in that time either which surprised me tbh. The main reason i stopped smoking was due to the cost and going by the tally i have in my sig below i have saved about £20k in 5 years!
It has been great fun in that time learning and trying out all of the different mods, attys and juices. When i first started it was quite a steep learning curve going from a simple cigalite type setup into the world of coiling your own attys and figuring out how not to turn your setup into a handheld thermal grenade! but with the help of members on here i have gotten through the years almost unscathed.
I will admit shinyitis gripped me strong and i couldn't resist ordering new and exciting gear to try out to find that elusive perfect setup. I would like to say i am happy with the setups i have now but i still find myself trawling the interwebs looking for new shiny things for me to try.
I have really fallen out of sub-ohming over the last year as i just don't see the need for using all that juice and battery power just to blow out big clouds so my main setup has been my trusty Sense Herakles Pro tanks with the 1.8ohm coils on top of one of my many mods. I have also been enjoying getting back to MTL tanks and pairing them up with dinky wee 18650 mods for pocket friendly on the go vaping setups.
Anyway just wanted to post in this thread and thank all of the wonderful members on this forum for helping me through the years.
Regards Stuart

Question for Perps,,, have you discovered any alternative uses for Fluval? Ye of little faith beeper! A little while back some of us picked up Esige tanks for the grand sum of 1p each - they've a rather ineffective thin disc of sponge in the base, to soak any residue of eliquid - so I've been using up my stocks for that. ( This fix came about when I washed the supplied one down the sink cleaning the tank! ) So everything comes in . . . . . eventually in my world, but if you've not got this particular tank, it's a tip that won't be of much use. Thank you for the congrats.
